Not many of you may know this but about 5 years ago my life as well as Daphne's would be forever changed. Justin and Brian decided to buy a boat. Not just any boat, a duck huntin' boat. They were so excited, they brought it home and sanded it down and put a fresh coat of paint on it and did some fine tuning, heck, Daph even sewed them a blind to use on it.
Little did we know that EVERY single time the guys would take the boat out for a hunt they would have to "work on the boat" to get it ready of the hunt. It got to the point where Daph and I would joke about it every time they would go hunting.
At first the boat stayed in our driveway for a while then it moved down to Holly Lake and then to McKinney into a storage place where it would sit and sit and sit. As a matter of fact I think we paid for storage for 2 years without moving that thing.
time passing, crickets chirping...

News came that the Vella's were moving to CO so the guys decided to sell the boat. Justin and I load up the boys and head to get the boat. We get the boat hooked to the truck and head out. Well, out a few hundred feet until we heard this funny noise. Justin gets out of the car and makes me hop in the drivers seat and drive really slow. This trailer is NOT road safe! The wheel bearing or something was not going to make it. Of course Justin can't find the part so he has to order it, it comes in and Justin goes out and fixes it but yet the boat stayed there :)
So now the Vella's are in CO and the boat still sits and the bank accounts are being hit every month for storage fees... FINALLY we are heading to get the boat and bring it to the house to get it ready to sell... or so we thought!
After the soccer games we head to storage, get to the boat and it has about 300 gallons of water sitting in it and 8 million crickets. That is what clogged the drain so it was full of water. Oh and did I mention the flat tire on the trailer??? So Justin sticks a stick up the plug to get it unclogged and let the 300 gallons of water drain, we head to Home Depot to get some Fix A Flat, they are out, of course they are... so we head to CVS and get some. Get back to the boat and Justin asks for the keys. I say, "what keys", he replies ,"the boat keys". " I don't have them", "yes, you do, they are in the glovebox", "no, they are not", "yes, that is where they were". "No dear, that was in the Expedition but when we sold it I emptied the glovebox". "why do we need them"??? So long story short, we leave AGAIN without the boat.
The next weekend we get the keys to the boat and head back out to storage. Justin airs up the tire with the portable air compressor and we are ready to roll... WOOHOOOOOO the boat is MOVING!
Now, we just need to get the thing running so we can put a nice FOR SALE sign on that bad boy and according to Brian he said that Daph and I get the money to shop with. I hope Justin did not erase that text, that is my only proof.
Thanks for the memories... oh wait, you are sitting in my driveway and I get to see you every time I pull in and out of the garage.
