Minecraft

Minecraft...  that is ALL we ever hear about in this house lately!  What is it you ask?  Read below...

Minecraft is a sandbox building independent video game originally created by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson and now developed by his company, Mojang. In 2011, Jens Bergensten, also known by his pseudonym Jeb, took full creative control over Minecraft.
Minecraft is focused on creativity and building, allowing players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world. Gameplay in its commercial release has two principal modes:Survival, which requires players to acquire resources and maintain their health and hunger; and Creative, where the player has an unlimited supply of resources, the ability to fly, and no health or hunger. A third gameplay mode, named Hardcore, is essentially the same as Survival, but the difficulty is locked on the hardest setting and respawning is disabled, forcing the player to delete his or her world upon death. An outdated Classic version is also available for free, although it is no longer being developed. Creative Minecraft resembles Classic, but with many more features.

The boys have become OBSESSED with this new game.  They are begging for an account on the computer to play it.  They have the free version on their iTouch right now.  We are making them "earn" an account.  They live, breath and eat Minecraft.  I hear about it daily and I am not going to lie, I find myself thinking of other things while the boys are telling me all about what they built and what tool they used when and... they lost me.  Opps :)  I try not to stare at them with the blank face that I am actually making as I type this.  I want them to think that I am interested but for the LOVE OF PETE, this is ALL we hear about other than how boring school is of course!  Even Justin said something about them ONLY talking about it... that says something right there.

No more diapers... for Sophia

Sophia is oficially POTTY TRAINED!  It has been about four weeks now since she has worn a diaper.  She has done a great job and will just get up and go potty without telling anyone until after she has done it.  We have only had five accidents and a couple of those were right in front of the toilet because she could not get her pants down fast enough.  WOOHOOOOOO

Of course school started and I have been putting a diaper on her just in case she gets busy playing and forgets.  She still sleeps in a diaper but wakes up dry.  There have been a couple of times she will wake up in the middle of the night crying and she has started to pee in her diaper so I just put her on the potty, that has been the most difficult part.

HOLY BALLS! KILLLLLLLL IT!

Jonah had basketball practice tonight so he and Justin do not get home until about 8:30.  I had just put the other kids down and was walking downstairs and I see Justin sitting out front in his truck with his lights on at a funny angle.  I then see someone standing in front of his truck.  It was Chad taking a picture of this...  I went out to see what was going on and saw this.  I am STILL freaking out.  This thing was HUGE!  I am not even lying.  It ran into the street and Justin tried to run over it and it JUMPED onto the curb, yes, JUMPED.  Chad then gets a rock and throws it on him and nothing... still moving.  Justin yells, "watch out" and jumps the curb in his truck and runs over it.

He was headed towards our house up our sidewalk.  So thankful Chad was walking the dogs and saw it!  eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk

My sweet boys

For the last two years or so after we tuck the boys in at night one of them will always ask if I can lay down with them.  At first my heart melted and I all but jumped in bed... I may have even fallen asleep a few times and then it got to be EVERY night and I had to start saying no.  I then realized that just laying down with them for a little while would not hurt...  laundry could wait to be folded, my shower could wait another 10 minutes and the clutter could stay on the floor a little longer.

When Luke was smaller he NEVER wanted anyone to lay with him or cuddle with him when he was sleeping.  Jonah is like velcro to  me, (daddy is too hot).  Now that Luke is asking I know that this time will soon pass and they will not even want me in their room!  So for now I will expect to hear my sweet Luke say these words to me every night after we tuck him in, "mom, will you lay with me for a little".  I will then crawl in the bed, he will put his arm around me and say, "I love you mom".

One day it will end, my heart will break and I will be so thankful that I crawled in bed and got my cuddles while they were still giving them away.  Jonah is on the top bunk right now so I do not crawl up, he will get my cuddles in three months (when they switch bunks)!

Sophia First Day Of School

Sophia started back to school today.  She was so excited to play with friends, playdough and food.  She walked right in the room and so I just turned around and left.

For the past 7 days she has been in underwear and only had two accidents.  She does not tell me she needs to go but just goes and then comes to tell me she went potty.  I put her in a diaper for school just in case she is too busy playing to remember.  I sure hope it does not make her forget the last 7 days.  Fingers crossed!

Busy Day

Today Justin and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary.  We have not officialy celebrated yet with sports starting this weekend and Jonah's birthday.  We had a family party for him at our house and then he had his first basketball game.  It was not until 6:00, Sophia had not had a nap and was exhausted and Seth was ready for bed too so we stayed home.  I hated to miss it but I did not really get to see any of Luke's game since I was chasing Sophia around.  Jonah did shoot a basket and scored 2 points!  YEA Jonah!

Seth turned six months old today too so I decided to give him his first food, sweet potatoes.  He took about four bites and did pretty well.  I cannot believe he is getting so big.

this was fun getting everyone
to look at the camera!

Seth 6 months old

The Hulk is six months old.  He is sitting up a lot more these days and is so alert about everything.  I think one of his favorite times of the day is when Sophia wakes up and sees him.  She always says, "well hello, big un, you sleep good Setheroo".  When the boys get home from school they run in and see who can kiss and hug him first.

When we are in the car the boys will bend down and pop back up and say one word, (cheese, grandma, poop, grass, any random word) and Seth cracks up.  He gets that belly laugh going and then we all start laughing.  He still only has two teeth and is constantly drooling and biting on something.  His poor little chin is so dry from the constant slobber and barf.  He is still throwing up, although not half as much.  I think we can FINALLY see the light at the end of the tunnel.  We still put him to sleep on the nap nanny and keep him upright.

He has been sleeping until 7:00-7:30 and after he eats he goes back down for about an hour.

Frisco Fire First Game

Luke had his first game of the season today.  We were so proud of him, he actuall took the ball and dribbled down the court.  His team lost but he had a blast out there.

Love the look

crazy hair, her bow had just come out.

Mimi and Papa came to
cheer Luke on.

Happy 9th Birthday Jonah

Today my baby boy turned 9!  I know I sound like a broken record but where has the time gone?  He started his birhday off with a 5:45 wake up call to go dove hunting with daddy, Luke and Chad.  He was SO excited because daddy let him shoot the gun.

Jonah chose Raising Canes for lunch and Salsa for dinner.  It was so awesome outside that we ate on the patio.  We had our own little area with two tables outside so the kids could run wild.

Jonah got a few Lego sets, some speakers and headphones for is iTouch.  We will continue the festivities tomorrow when family comes to help us celebrate.

Oh no!  Look who is making
the BD face now.

Sophia Meet The Teacher

We went to meet Sophia's teachers today and she was SO excited... until we walked up to the door of her room.  She FROZE in fear, the tears fell and the scream echoed for miles it seemed.  I finally got her in the room with the playdough, she sat down and actually looked at her new teachers after a few minutes.  She then went over to play with the play food and made me a little something to eat and by that time a couple of new classmates had come in.  One little boy sat by her and she LOST IT again...  the poor boy just said hello.  I then of course could not get her to leave, she wanted to stay and play.  Fingers crossed that things go well when I drop her off next week  to stay.

Labor Day

Today we headed over to Mimi and Papas for Labor Day.  This might be the last swim of the season and Luke was showing off his skills doing a flip off the board.  Jonah has been working all summer on his dive and it is looking awesome!  We are so proud of him.
