Meeting Our New Cousin

Today we headed to the hospital so the kiddos could meet their new cousin Claire.  They were so excited to finally meet her.  We did not stay long and when we got to the truck Sophia said, "ohhhhh, I need to hold Claire again she is so beautiful"!

Seth was so excited when he saw Claire

Later Sunday night this is the text mom, Stefanie and I received...  They had not picked a middle name yet so...

She's Coming, She's Coming... Or NOT...

Little Miss Claire is calling the shots around here and she is not even born yet!  Her due date was September 23rd.  Thursday morning Carlie sent me a text around 10:00 asking if I could come and fix her chipped toe nail.  Of course I had juts left to run an errand at Preston and Park when I got the text.  She said she was having contractions and all she could think about was going into labor and having a chipped toe nail.  I ran in to get my errand done and went home to get my polish and headed to her house.

We got her nails painted and during that time she kept having to get up with contractions.  She had a rough night so Friday they told me they were headed to the hospital.  They got there... two hours later were sent home.

Saturday morning I called to check in and they had another rough night, she was up every 7-8 minutes so I told him that I was coming to get Noah so they would not have to worry about him.  When I got there they told me they were headed to the hospital, Carlie was SOOOOO ready to have this baby.  She was going to tell them to do whatever needed to be done!  A few hours later Nic sent a text saying they were ending up doing a c-section around 1:30.

I put Noah down for a nap and Justin told me to go up to the hospital, I wasn't going to say, "no".

Side note: Sophia had been up since 6:15 that morning and was a total nightmare!  I told her that after lunch she was going to lay down.  She did not want to blah blah blah. I told her she did not have to sleep, just lay there until I came to get her.  I put her down and headed to the hospital.  About 30 minutes later little Miss Claire came into this world weighing 8lbs 12oz and 20.5 inches long.

I sent Justin pictures and this is the text I get back from him.

He did not respond and I was on my way back to the house so I would just ask him then.  I get home, come in the kitchen, put my stuff down and he walks in and says, "where is Sugar Bear"?  I look at him and say, "what do you mean where is she and what did your text mean"?  His response, "not funny Alison, where is she"?  Again, I looked at him and said, "I promise you, I did NOT take her with me to the hospital, when I left she was in her room".

Read text below:  This was in the same time stamp on the text.

Justin had TOTALLY forgotten she was in her room sleeping!  The girl has not napped in over a year... we are not used to the silence... unless she is sleeping :)  We started laughing, he had been distracted with Noah and Seth!  LOL

Later Saturday night Justin and I had a wedding to attend so we were going to stop by the hospital on the way downtown and drop Noah off to meet his new sister and Grandma was going to take him home afterwards.  We got to the hospital and gave Claire some lovin' and headed to the wedding.

Scott and Haley's Wedding

We went downtown to Union Station for Scott and Haley's wedding and had a great time.  I do not think I have ever worn heels as high as I did and I wanted to leave them for a homeless person on the curb... I did not but sure thought about it over and over again!

As we were leaving the wedding reception they had warm, boxed pizza for everyone.  What a great parting gift!  Justin ate the entire pizza minus the slice I had.  We did not get home until 12:45, we must have had fun!

So greatful that Nina and Aunt Kelly could help watch the kiddos while we went to the wedding!  Thanks again Meemaw and Kel!  Kel and the kids had a big sleep over so they would not have to drive home late.  The kids had a great time.

Sharks Basketball

The Sharks got their new uniforms in.  They looked really good and all the boys were excited!  Jonah sat out most of the game because he arm has been bothering him.  Not sure if it is a pulled muscle or what.  He told coach that it was also making his chest hurt when he ran...

Pops brought Seth some ice cream and he got SO excited!

Luke's Game

Cousins came to watch Luke play in his soccer game and then came for pizza.

The Hulk Starts SPP

The Hulk started school at SPP today!  The morning was a little rough because we had to wake him up at 8:00.  One thing we have learned with him is that you DO NOT under ANY circumstances wake The Hulk up!  If you do wake him up he will cry for a good 45 minutes and does not want you to put him down, or hold him or offer him anything.  He is just M A D you woke him up.

We made it to his classroom and I got him out of the stroller and he wrapped his legs around me and would not let go.  Mrs.  Jackie grabbed him and I had to unwrap his legs... my heart was melting...

but I still grabbed the stroller and got out of there as quick as I could so I could not hear him screaming :)  Poor Hulkie, such a mean ol momma!

When I went to pick him up he was sitting at the table with all his classmates and teachers.  He looked over at me, turned away and then looked back with a blank stare.  He wanted nothing to do with me until I turned around to walk away :)  I went and grabbed a hold of my Hulkie and squeezed so tight.  He had just woken up from an hour and a half nap.  They said he cried when they first put him down but only for a few minutes.  So he had a pretty good day!

Motley Crue

Justin, Matt, Brooks and Scott headed to OK tonight for the Motley Crue concert.  They obviously dressed up and had a great time... Look close at Justin's head... he has tatoos on it.  The other guys even have their nails painted black!

Haley's Bridal Lunch

Starr put a bridal lunch together for Haley at Bonnie Ruths.  I was glad I got to attend, Sophia was in school and Seth was napping with Justin working from home.

Sophia's First Day Of Preschool

Sophia had her first day of school today!  Of course she did not want her hair done so I did not even fight that battle.  When we got to school we started to unload her backpack and she was so excited to go in.  She stepped into the room, stepped backwards, looked at me and said, "mom, just push me in."  I laughed as I put my hand on her back and she walked in.  She is a nut!  She walked in and put her napmat and lunch in her cubby, grabbed her fish to put in her tank.

Mrs.  Cheryl said she had a great day!  No nap of course and when I got there to pick her up she told me that she was just about to take a nap before I got there... yea right!

Pieces of art she worked on today.

Jonah Turns 10!

Happy Birthday Jonah!  The boys got a 6:00 am wake up call this morning so they could go dove hunting.  Jonah woke up with streamers on his door and when he walked out of his room he said, "what the" and I snapped a picture and scared him with the flash :)

I always just LOVE how fast they jump out of the bed at 6:00 am (earlier for duck hunting) and I have to D R A G them out of bed on school days at 6:30... they are just like their daddy!

Justin stopped at 7-Eleven for a birthday TWINKIE for Jonah and sang Happy Birthday to him in the field.  Justin sent me a video, that is why the picture is blurry.

Luke was cracking us up!  He had the dove wings (one in each hand) and was standing in the back of the truck singing, "I Believe I Can Fly".

Sophia and The Hulk were so excited to see the boys!

In the field.
After Justin's first shot the boys ran to recover the bird and Jonah said, "uh, dad... do dove usually have orange spots on their wings"?  EEEKKKKK.  For all of you non hunters the answer is NO!  So the boys proceed to dig a grave for the bird, bury him and cover him with dirt.  Justin asked what was taking them so long and they were sticking a feather in the grave!  I told Justin that he has GOT to take pictures of these things.  :)
Cleaning the dove so we can make some dove poppers!
Jonah looks just like cousin Kaleb in the bottom picture.

After a little hunting we grilled some burgers and had some cupcakes before the basketball game.

Jonah's first game of the season!  The new uniforms are not in so they had to wear their old ones for the first game.  Jonah had a great game, lots of rebounds and two shots that ALMOST went in!  Mimi, Papa and Meemaw all came to watch Jonah play.

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY JONAH!  Now that the sports schedules are out we can plan your party!!!

Strikers

Luke's friend Will's soccer team needed another player so they asked Luke if he wanted to play.  At first Luke said, "no" but then changed his mind.  So I got him all signed up and ready to play.  Now, remember, it has been a couple of years since Luke has played soccer, he has been playing basketball.  We were a little worried since he has not even TOUCHED a soccer ball since his last game :)  We were excited to hear that Diego was going to be on the team too.  Diego was on the Hurricanes with Luke.

The game was at 2:15 and it was 100 degrees... O N E   H U N D R E D!  I seriously thought we were going to melt.  Nothing like feeling that first bead of sweat running down your back and into your...

There was hardly a  cloud in the sky but when the sun went behind one it was a huge relief.  When it was Luke's turn to play he came running out on the field with a smile on his face.

Like I said before Luke had not touched a ball in who knows how long... he got out there and played his heart out!  He was going after the ball and was aggressive.  I think he touched the ball more in this one game then he did all season last time he played.  They were playing on the large field too so it was a really big change for him.

We were SO proud of him for giving it his all!  Way to go LUKE!

Sophia keeping cool by dumping water on her head.
The Hulk had fun with the football and soccer ball.

Seth and Sophia Meet The Teacher

Today we went to meet Seth and Sophia's teachers for the year!  Seth walked right in and started playing.  His lead teacher is Mrs. Jackie and assistant teacher is Mrs. Tiffany, who was Sophia's assistant teacher the first year she was at SPP.  Seth found the balls and was in heaven.  He started throwing them to everyone and running after them.  One of the dads asked how old he was because he could not believe how hard he was throwing.

Sophia has Mrs. Cheryl for a lead teacher and Mrs. Suzanne for her assistant teacher.  She would not get close enough for a picture with Mrs.  Suzanne.  She got her name and put it on her fish bowl.  She was super excited when she got to pick out her journal and was told she got to take it home and decorate it.  She has some friends in her class from last year, Bowie and  Shivani.  She also has a friend from her class the first year she was there, Cason.
