Sophia Turns 4!

Justin and I thought Sophia would LOVE waking up to streamers on her birthday... were we ever wrong!  She opened the door and tears started flowing.  The streamers sucked in towards her when she opened her door and scared her to death :)

She quickly stopped as she saw her new kitchen, dishes, food, book and puzzles.

We let her decide where she wanted to go out for dinner and she chose Salsa.

Happy Birthday Sugar Bear!

Hulks Eye

The Hulks eye met the corner of the coffee table this afternoon!  :(  Notice it is RIGHT next to the scare from the last time he busted it open.  Poor Hulkie

Matt's 40th

Matt turned 40 today and Nori was going to have a surprise party for him but ended up having to tell him about it.  She reserved some tables at Henry's Tavern and she asked me to go early to help her decorate.  Justin and Matt came together later and we had a great time.

I was giving a cheers to Eric... he was drinking out of this copper mug and I had NEVER seen anyone do that.  It was a Moscow Mule (ginger beer and vodka) .  He later told us he has his own set of these sweet mugs!

The Hulk... Strikes Again

Justin and I are cleaning up after dinner and Sophia comes running in yelling, "mommy, daddy, mommy, daddy, mommy, daddy"!  We asked her what she was yelling for and she said, "Sethy threw mommy's phone in the bathtub"!  No worries... one of the boys was in the shower and Seth was just in there doing what he does... which is THROW EVERYTHING IN THE TUB AS FAST AS HE CAN... when you are fishing whatever it was he chunked in there he already has two more things in.

The tub was not full and the kids were not in it.  No need to worry folks... we do not let the kids bathe with no supervision!  Justin runs in there and sure enough, the phone was in the tub... the FULL tub!  WHAT WHAT?  Apparently Seth had turned the water on and all the toys in there filled the drain and the tub filled up.

Son of a mother!  BRAND NEW PHONE I got for Christmas.  Of course I took it out of its case and put it in rice blah blah blah.  When I got it to turn on it told me to charge it, I did and then the warning "battery too cool to charge".  Seriously?  I do not even know what that means!  HA

So 24 hours later I went to the AT&T Store and they said, "that will be $600".  Yea, that ain't happening folks, no way, no how!  Of course the only user on the account to make authorization was Justin!  Nothing makes my blood boil more when they pull that crap!  My phone is on the account I am a grown women now FIX IT!   Seeing as how I was NOT going to pay $600 I pulled out my old iPhone and asked her what it would cost me to reconnect that and walk out and she said, "nothing"!  DONE, do it.

I called Justin and he had to call AT&T and add me as an authorized user... 30 minutes later I could check out the "options" I had.  We could see who was eligible for an upgrade... Justin just got a new phone less than a year ago and mine was brand new.  This was NOT looking good.

Finally, I am an authorized user on the account!  Apparently they are no longer doing two year contracts so I could change my "plan" and add the cost of the phone and make a monthly payment added into my plan.  I told her that I needed my plan to stay the same and she said that it will be the same but have 4 more something or other data bla bla.  I asked what my monthly payment would be and she showed me and then I asked what I was paying now, she showed me and it was $14 CHEAPER than what we are paying now.  So, I am going to walk out of here with a $600 phone and a cheaper monthly bill and only pay $55 tax on the phone?  DONE!

I guess I will never understand how these things work but I really do not even care if I got a lower monthly bill and only paid tax on the phone!

Typical Day At The Mortons

It's never a dull moment at The Morton house!  On any given day there are at least two extra kiddos here.  Thanks to Santa for bringing TWO extra XBox remotes now they can play four player.

Gabe and Evan

Blake, Chase and Gabe

Greer, Jackson, Chase and Gabe

Chase and Artis

Finally Some Warm Weather

I honestly think my heart skipped a beat!  Chase came over to play and they did NOT want to play Xbox!  I repeat DID NOT WANT TO PLAY XBOX!!!  Did you get that folks???  DID NOT...

They wanted a Nerf gun battle.  They went around the hood to look for anyone who could play with them.  No one was home but we found Blake after his soccer game.  They went out and started shooting and there were bullets EVERYWHERE!  Notice the photo bomber in the picture.

They had a fun and really enjoyed the weather.

Jonah had a basketball game and made a basket!  Yea Jonah!

New Shoes

I took The Hulk to get some new shoes.  I measured his foot and picked out a pair.  I put one on his foot and he started kicking and saying, "no".  I continued and he got louder and louder.  He did NOT want that shoe.  I grabbed a couple of more and held them up and asked if he wanted "this one".   He shook his head and shoved it away as he told me NO!  He pointed to the ones he liked and to keep the boy happy those are the ones we left with!
He wore them ALL day long!    When it was bed time I was putting on his jammies and he lost his ever lovin' mind!  He wanted his shoes on.  I told him I would put them back on with his jammies.  He finally calmed down and we got his jammies on... then the shoes.
Time for bed... The shoes were NOT coming off.  He slept in them all night.

Valentine's Day

Sophia missed her Valentine party yesterday at school because she woke up at 3:30 that morning with a fever.  So sad she had to miss such a fun day at school.  I did not even take Seth to school because Sophia did not even want to get in the car.

The afternoon rolled around and she was feeling much better... Mrs.  Cheryl (her teacher) called to see if she could bring by her Valentine goodies.  Sophia was a little surprised to see her.

Today, Friday she was feeling much better.  We had some errands to run so we headed out.  Of course we had to have a Starbucks... it WAS Valentines Day after all!

ALERT ALERT ALERT!  BABY IS MISSING, I REPEAT, BABY IS MISSING!!!

Folks, this is NOT good when baby goes missing.  Sophia is fine when she goes to sleep without her but if she wakes up in the night (9 times out of 10 when she does not have baby) she cries for baby.  There is NOTHING that calms her down.

Back in October I found a new doll similar to baby, except the outfit.  I broke her out and asked if this was OK for her to sleep with.  She got a huge smile on her face and said, "yes, but what if her fuzzy outfit makes me hot when I am sleeping"?  I know what you are thinking... she IS her mothers daughter!  HA  My response to her, "move baby away from you if her fuzzy outfit makes you hot"!  FOR THE LOVE.

Of course the next day we found baby safe under the covers in my bed... guess momma should look for baby instead of daddy next time.  :)

I did not make it to the boys school parties either since Sophia had been running a fever the afternoon before.  I have NEVER missed one of their parties and it really was sad seeing everyone's posts on FB.  Justin got home and we had dinner and then he had to work.  We got the kids in bed and by 9:00 he was working again and worked until 2:30 Sat. morning.  At least he can work from home!  This was our 20th Valentines together!  Oh where has the time gone?

Thank you Mimi and Papa for our cards.

Still Runs In The Closet

Uncle Jason and the boys came by to drop a couple of things by and when Sophia saw them at the door she would not open it and she ran to my closet.  She eventually ran upstairs to play with the kids and I found this in the laundry room.

Donuts With Dad

Sophia was sick for Donuts With Dad so Mrs. Cheryl sent home her place mat and some paint so Sophia could paint daddy's hands.  She had so much fun doing it!

Going To Jail

Sophia told me to call her daddy so she could tell him I was going jail since I would not let her have an Oreo!

Seriously?

MOMMA IS FREE!!!  Today Sophia and The Hulk were heading back to school after missing an entire week last week.  My to do list is a mile long from missing an entire week.  It was 8:35 and I was passing over Legacy to drop the littles off when the phone rang... it was Allen, the boys school.

There were SO many thought/emotions running through my head in the time it took me to see caller ID and to answer the call.

  • you have GOT TO BE KIDDING me!  (please no barf)
  • I'm going to wring his neck!
  • WHAT this time... its ONLY 8:35am
My stomach drops and I hear the lady on the other end say, "this is Ms. Gaffney, the school nurse"... I honestly wanted to tune her out and hang up, but I didn't.  :)  I did not hear her say which child it was, did it really matter?  I was headed up there to get them anyway.

I get to the school and walk in the office and tell them that I have no idea who I am there to get but they are in the clinic.  They probably were thinking I was crazy at that point.  Mrs. Williams said, "Oh it's Jonah".  She told me that she saw him at "greeters" this morning and told him to head to the clinic because of his eye.  He asked what was wrong with his eye.

I drop the littles off at school and call Dr.  Kaplan.  They asked if I was close and if I could be there in 5 minutes! Heck ya!  We went and confirmed it is pink eye so we went to pick up the prescription and they wanted $108 fat ones for STINKIN' EYE DROPS!!!  The pharmacist told me there was generic but had to be called in by the doctor.  I called the doctor and they called in the generic brand.   Went to pick this one up and it only cost me $9.75.  That is RIDICULOUS!
