Snowing And Stuck At School

The boys teachers took them out to play for a few minutes out in the snow!

San Diego Day One

Justin and I headed to San Diego for the weekend to surprise Scott for his 40th.  The weather was crazy!  It was snowing and it was only going to get worse as the day went on.  Our flight was at 11:30 and we were an hour delayed due to the snow and having to get the plane de iced.

We finally landed and heard that they cancelled a ton of flights after ours so we were happy to get out.  We stayed at the Hilton Gas Lamp downtown.  We had some time to kill before the party so we headed out to grab a bite to eat.  We went to LaPuerta and had THE BEST tacos!  Justin saw an IPA truck so went and took a selfie for Kev since he could not make the trip and it is his favorite beer.  A police officer saw him and asked if he was taking a selfie in front of a beer truck and laughed at him!

We went to 6 or so pawn shops looking for a guitar.  Found this one he liked but the guy was asking a little much.

We were supposed to be at the hotel (Humphreys On The Bay) at 7:00 and the birthday boy was to show up at 7:30.  Everyone started showing up and it was so great to see everyone again.

The birthday boy showed up and was SO surprised!  He had NO idea.  He was in shock because as he looked around the room he saw Justin and I, Roger and Gregg from Austin, Joe Wayne from Arizona, Uppy and Patrick from New Mexico and then all his friends that live in San Diego.

We ate dinner in the room and Dafodill played a couple of songs and then we headed down to where the 80's cover band was playing.  We had a great time.  I was fading fast due to the time change.  The picture below were the last ones standing and it was 4:00 am Dallas time.

We headed back to the hotel to play a few more tunes until security came to tell us to shut it down.

The surprise was a success and Andrea did an awesome job with the party!  We had a blast!

Seth And His Bear

Seth is still loving his bear.  This is the bear that was given to Jonah when he was born and he never touched it.  A year and a half ago when Justin and I were in Mexico for Atkins wedding we missed our flight home so mom and dad had to keep the kids for a night.  Jonah came to the house with Mimi to get some clothes for a sleepover and he grabbed this bear and said that he thought Seth would like it.  I do not even know where Jonah found it!  Seth has not let go of it since!

Creek Fun

The boys have been going down to the creek and having a great time.  This time they brought back a turtle shell with the skeleton of the turtle in it.

RIP iPad

The day has finally arrived... Moms iPad bit the dust.  Of course it was never really "moms" iPad since I NEVER used it.  Who could with the kids fighting over it all the time.

Sophia was on it and I was in the kitchen and she walked over to ask or show me something and I watched the thing FLY out of her hands, flip over and land smack face down on the travertine.  I knew it was a gonner when I saw pieces of glass fly!  She just stood there, looked up at me and said, "you frighteninged me".  I asked her how I "frighteninged" her, I was just standing there.

Kev 40th

We headed to Lauren and Roberts to celebrate Kev's 40th.  He wanted a BBQ- Bonfire party.  Thanks to Robert and Lauren for offering their house.  The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast.

30 minutes before we had to leave Jonah and Luke came back from the creek like this!  They "slipped" in.  This picture was taken after they hosed off.  They smelled so bad I made them shower.  They both had to get back in because you could tell where they did not wash because their skin was black.  They were covered head to toe in mud.  Luke had it in his nose and in his mouth!

Sophia and Aubrey hit it off and were attached at the hip.  Aubrey is 7 and a little performer.  She wants to go to Hollywood!  She sang Let It Go while Yar played the guitar and she was awesome!  She then sang Happy Birthday to Kev.  When it was time for Aubrey to leave she asked where Sophia was so she could tell her bye.  She ran over and hugged Sophia and after the hug Sophia held up her arms and yells, "my new best friend".  It was so sweet.

The big kids jumped on the hay bails for hours and ran around the property.  They ran for over 5 hours playing chase and jumping hay bails.

It was time to light the bonfire!  The week before Justin and Kev went out to help Robert take down trees for the bonfire.

Time to jam!  Yar, Justin, Kev and Aaron kept the audience entertained.

The birthday boy!

Luke came up to me asking what time it was because he was so tired.  It was 8:40.  They had been running around since 5:00.  We finally loaded up at 10:45 and headed home.  We got home an hour later and made the bigs shower.  They were SO tired and SO dirty but I could NOT let them sleep with how dirty they were.
