Beavers Bend, Broken Bow, OK

The Sherpy's and The Morton's loaded up and headed to OK for the weekend.  It was ridiculous how much we had packed, Jonah and Luke rode with mom and dad and we had the gypsie rack on the back and were still PACKED!  Of course Remi's kennel took up half the back of the Suburban, we took the boys bows, target, corn hole and all the luggage.

I was driving and got pulled over in OK.  Lets just say that I learned something... until the BACK of your car passes the posted speed limit sign, YOU ARE SPEEDING!  I was at a stop sign, took off and when I looked to see what the speed limit was the sign said 65.  He caught me doing 66!  When he told me that, I looked at him and said, "seriously"?  He then proceeds to tell me that he caught me doing 66 in a 55. I said, "what? the sign said 65".   That is the exact moment I learned that you do not go the speed limit you see on the sign in front of you until AFTER you pass it!  At least he just gave me a warning :)  Justin said if he had been driving he would have gotten a ticket!

We arrived to our cabin, Nicks Nature House and started to unload.  There were 2 bedrooms down and 2 up.  Jonah and Luke took a room upstairs and Mom and dad took the other, they also had Noah, Claire and Seth on their floor :)  Sophia decided to come sleep with us at the last minute on the fouton in our room.

We headed out to ride the train and got to see some dear along the way.  Of course we had to stop for some cotton candy on the way out.

Back at the cabin the guys were playing corn hole and it started POURING rain!  The temps dropped and the humidity rose.

They loved playing corn hole

Saturday we headed out to go on a hike.  We found one that was a big loop and only took about an hour since we had all the kids with us and the dogs.  Did I mention it was 1000 degrees outside and 2000% humidity with NO BREEZE?  The kids did great and had fun exploring.

After the hike we headed out to the spillway to play in the water.  The water was really cold and the kids had fun getting in and skipping rocks.

We headed back to the cabin for dinner and then s'mores.

Thanks to mom and dad for preparing the food ahead of time and bringing it.  It was nice to have it and just heat it up and eat.  It rained every day we were there but kept busy playing games and of course Mimi's iPad.  The kids played ERS and I got Carlie and Nic hooked on Sequence.

I pretty much did not sleep since it was so BLAZING hot in there at night.  I would get up and drop the AC down but it would kick itself back up.   I was MISERABLE!  The last night there I woke myself up clawing myself to death, I was covered in bites.  Of course NO ONE ELSE WAS, SHOCKER... until we got home that night and Carlie sent a text asking if anyone else was covered in chiggers.  Her, Nic and the kids were.  Then Luke came down and told me that he was covered.  I honestly think they spread and kept eating me alive!
