SERIOUSLY PEOPLE!

After Hurricane Harvey sat over Houston for 5 days the panic began to set in.  People thought we were going to run out of gas so what did EVERYONE decide to do?  GO GET GAS.  These fools waited in line of an hour or longer to get gas and caused the gas stations to run out of gas ALL OVER TOWN.  I just do not get it.  DO NOT FILL UP unless you need to.  If you just get gas when you need it then there will not be a shortage.  

The school bus was late all week because these morons were blocking traffic waiting in line.  

Ice Cream Social

We had a board meeting for PTA and after the Ice Cream Social where the teachers serve ice cream.  Seth and Sophia were so excited and had so much fun. 

Seth Playdate

Seth was SO excited to meet a new friend who lives right down the street and could not wait to ask Carlisle to come play.  They built a fort.  

Miesha's Yearly Back To School Lemonade Stand

Bishop and Roman had their yearly back to school lemonade stand.  Miesha always does such an awesome job and the kids love it!  

We Made It Through The First Week

We made it through the first week of school.  I found this in Sophia's folder and it explains a lot.  Poor girl gets herself all worked up and stresses herself out.  The second day of school I got a call from the nurse at 9:30 saying Sophia was in her office with a stomach ache.  I thought we were passed all of this but poor girl... she just stresses out.  I had to explain to the nurse (new nurse this year) about the situation last year and to her new teacher as well.  

No more calls but she does tell me that she gets really hot right before she has to do work because she is scared she will not understand or get something wrong.  

Stacie had a playdate Friday for the girls and they had a blast.  So happy to see her friends since they all got split up this year.  

Poor Remington does not know what to do.  He is so lonely with all the kids gone.  He now goes with me EVERY morning to Starbucks.  I start putting my clothes on and he jumps up and does not leave my side until we get in the car.  

First Day Of School

I must say... this was the FIRST year that I was not really excited about school starting back up.  We had a fun filled summer and we were not ready for it to end.   Jonah is going in 8th, Luke 7th, Sophia 2nd and Seth kinder.  

They were all smiles until it was time to walk out the door.  Justin was walking them to school and I was going to meet them there.  I had Starbucks coffee for the Tears and Cheers breakfast for the parents for after dropping their kids off.  

When I saw Seth walk in he was NOT happy.  It broke mommas heart so I just walked out after a hug and a kiss.

Poor Sophia was so upset walking in because she was nervous.  

Seth would not get in the annual first day walk to school picture.  

Jonah had to be at school at 6:30 for football so we did not get a picture before.  Luke gets to leave at 7:40.

It was a rough first week because the Saturday before school started the upstairs AC went out.  I swear this only happens when Justin is out of town!  It got up to 83 but in the bedrooms it was probably 10 degrees hotter.  Jonah and Luke slept up there the first night because Jonah just wanted his bed after being gone all week but he said he was NOT doing that again.  

The fasted they could get someone out was Tuesday.  So we brought down mattresses and had a family sleepover in our room all week until they could get out on Friday to replace it.  We had to do the attic unit and the outside unit.... just like we did last summer with the other unit.  

Meet The Teacher For Seth and Sophia

Seth and Sophia got to meet their teachers this week.  Seth got Mrs.  Ratliff and we really like her.    Seth was a little nervous at first but then was super excited.  

Sophia was really nervous because she only knew one person in her class and she was upset that she did not get any of her friends she always plays with. 

Justin was out of town and at the last minute I let Sophia go to Stonebriar for swimming and a movie.  She went with Lauren and Harper and Maggie were there too.  

Hawaiian Falls

Luke went with a group of friends to Hawaiian Falls to end the summer.  I packed sunscreen and told him to USE IT!  Eight hours later when he got home he was a lobster!  I was so irritated with him, I asked if he put sunscreen on and he said that he did ONE time!  Do these kids not realize that I reapply every hour and a half max?   I think he learned his lesson because he was hurting.  

Schedule Pick Up

Tonight we went to pick up Jonah and Luke's schedule and find their lockers.  We picked Jonah's up for him since he was out of town.  Luke had a little trouble with his locker but no problems the first day of school.

Kelly and Carlie brought the kids over for one last visit before school starts.
