We carved pumpkins and then took Seth and Sophia to another neighborhood with friends. Luke went to a birthday party the weekend before and dressed up. The bigs stayed home.
What a small world! I was at Frisco Flyers with Sophia and happen to see this man. He looked familiar to me so I went up to ask him if he was a Sherpy. He told me he was and when I told him I was Alison, Don's daughter he grabbed ahold of me and gave me a big hug. We had been talking on Facebook and I finally got to meet him. Richard is one of Dads first cousins that he had not seen since they were in high school and through Facebook we found them. We look forward to getting to know him.
The kids love this time of year because we get BOO'd and they love to BOO people. They were so excited they could hardly stand it. Sophia picked Madelyn and Molly and Seth did Rex and Ben. Seth came home the next day and Ben and Rex both knew it was him because they said they know the way he runs :)
Elyse asked Sophia if she wanted to do a volleyball 6 week camp. I was kind of shocked that she said yes. It was on our only free day so why not! Sophia was nervous when we got there but ended up LOVING it! She even came home telling Seth all about it and then they went out back to run drills that she had learned at camp. We of course then had to get a volleyball and knee pads.
The kids were out of school today and had been asking to go and see Grannie. It was the perfect day so we headed up to her new place. She was having a hard day and was yelling at the kids to stop and they were not going to act that way. They were just sitting in the chair not even talking. Sophia walked by Grannie and she grabbed her arm and told her she was not going to do that. Sophia looked at me and was very confused and I just told her to tell Grannie OK. Grannie then kicked us all out of her room. It was not a great visit but I guess she was having an off day. She would NOT look at the camera and when mom told her that I was taking a picture she told her she knew exactly what I was doing and she did not care.
Justin's alarm goes off at 6:30 and he rolls out of bed to get the smoker going to put the brisket on for the Hooter Family Reunion tonight. I roll out of bed at 7:00, grab my phone and see I have text from Haley and Jenny asking if we are on fire or are OK. I run out of the bedroom to check on Justin out back and all I see is red! I run around the corner to look out back and I see 4 fireman on our back porch and they are posing for a picture. Remington is now losing his mind and is going to wake up the entire house. I cannot run out there because I only have a t-shirt on. I wait for Justin to come inside and he cannot even talk he is laughing so hard. Apparently the new neighbors that just moved in behind us 2 weeks ago from CA called 911. They saw smoke coming from the backyard. Justin was making a video of the smoker talking about how good that pecan wood smells and what a great smoke it is. He was recording for Jason and Ro...
Justin and I took Seth to the FC Dallas game with his team. He wanted to sit with us at first but by the 2nd half he finally went and sat with his friends. It was SO HOT, so thankful we were in the shade for the game. It was an AWESOME game, won 6-0. Seth really had fun. Even came home with a new soccer jersey.
Justin and Jonah made it back in time for Seth's game. Mimi and Papa were headed out of town so they brought Winston. The Plano Morton crew showed up so Seth had a huge cheering section.
Jonah got a bird hunt at Rough Creek Ranch for his birthday. He and Justin went with Chase and Jeff. They headed out Friday night and hunted Saturday morning. They got some birds!
