Radiator Hose

As Luke, Sophia and I were turning the corner by the house Sophia asked what that smell was and I told her that we did just drive by Jonah's truck!  LOL  We laughed and pulled in the driveway and then Luke asked what smelled like pretzels and then it hit me, I knew exactly what that smell was... antifreeze and then smoke started coming from the hood.  Sophia starts freaking out and I told her to calm down, it was just the radiator hose and she ran in screaming to Justin that the car was smoking and to come quick.  Of course he comes running out and asks what is going on.  We pop the hood and he could see where the hose was leaking.  After working all damn day it is now 9:15 and he is going to Auto Zone.  He got home and decided to work on it in the morning.  We needed to get it out of the driveway because his truck was in front of mine and we needed a car to take the kiddos to school so at 10:15 we are pushing it down the driveway.  Once we got to the street I could not push anymore so we had to go get Jonah to come help.

Sophia 11th Birthday Prep

The Corona Virus is still here and does not look to be going anywhere.  There is now a vaccine that some folks are lining up for.  We have no idea what the world will do in Feb. now that Biden is President.   We decided to just have a few girls come over and spend the night for Sophia's birthday.  We decided since it is a sleepover that we would include a pillowcase with the invitation.  Sophia is still obsessed with tie dye so we went with that theme.  We printed the invite and Sophia got busy on getting the pillows tie dyed.  After they were made I put their name on them with the vinyl.  Since we are just having a sleepover I bought some jammies for the girls too.  Here is to the world not shutting back down again before then.

THE CHIEFS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!

I was so excited to watch the Chiefs to see if they would be advancing to the SUPER BOWL.  We turned the game on and watched them beat the Bills!!!  I started texting mom, dad, Lanita and Ralphie and was so confused by their responses.  I sent a meme to Papa and he said, "they better win this game before he worries about another ring"  huh?  they just won...  I called dad and questioned him and he told me the game was just starting.  WHAT game did I just watch then?  It was the game from Oct. 2020.  I had to call Ralphie and tell him, I knew he would get a kick out of it.  So... we are now watching the game that counts!  THE CHIEFS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL

The kiddos went to school in their Chiefs gear!

Seth's First Basketball Game

Seth has been wanting to play basketball so we got him signed up last spring and then the COVID pandemic hit and the world shut down and took sports with it.  He was really bummed but the world is slowly opening back up and sports started back up last fall.  We got him signed up and he is playing with Noah and is so excited.  We have to drive out to McKinney (23 min away) to play due to the schools not allowing games in their schools due to COVID 19.  Their team name is the Hawks.

Grannie's Funeral

Today we laid Grannie to rest.  The funeral was not at all what we expected, it was beautiful but due to COVID no one could come.  The family was there and a handful of friends.  Dakota could not make it down so we made a Flat Dakota for the cousin picture.

This sweatshirt is 27 years old.

Justin went hunting and not many were flying but he did get a pintail.

Mom was not really happy with the color job so Stefanie redid it for her, she was a nervous wreck but it turned out great!

Seth Ortho Appointment

It was finally time to get Seth in to see the orthodontist.  Poor kids teeth are growing behind his other teeth because there is no room for them.  This will be a 2 phase process.  He has to go in and have 4 teeth pulled and we will see how that helps with the crowding.  We are lucky that his pallet is wide enough so he will not have to have an expander.

New Years Day

The girls wanted to start the day with Starbucks.  They went in their cozy blankets that Meemaw and Pops gave them for Christmas.  We came home to have the french toast they made last night.

Fagan had 2 extra tickets to the Notre Dame/ Bama Game so Justin and Eric went.  Justin got home and we had basta and meatballs.  The girls helped with the meatballs.

IT IS SNOWING

Justin and Jason could not pass up a hunt with the cold front coming in.  They headed out to Ladonia and Jason got his FIRST duck ever and it was a woody!  Pretty awesome for your first duck.  Of course the kids were super excited it was going to snow.  They had to go out and play.  The pics do not show it well but it was coming down.  Of course as soon as it hit the ground it melted but the kids still had fun.

Heaven Gained An Angel Today

Today Grannie got angel wings.  This last year has been a crap storm with COVID so we were not able to see her for the last year.  It really sucked!  We did get to do a driveby on her 100th birthday so that was special.  She lived 100 years and saw a lot! She fought a hard fight after a broken hip and femur  on the same leg.  She was tough as nails.  I hope that I look this great at 100, she even had all of her teeth!

Mom and Lisa were taking turns being with her for 24 hour shifts.  There was only one visitor allowed due to COVID.  Since she was moved to hospice they allowed 3 visitors a day so Dominic and I were able to go up and see her.  She looked very peaceful sleeping and not in any pain.  I knew when I left there that it would not be much longer because her breathing had changed so much in the short time I was there.  Dominic and I left around 1:00 and dad went up to be with mom. We got word that she passed around 2:30.  Rest In Peace Grannie.
