Soccer Saturday

Today Seth had a game and it was bitter sweet.  We just buried Pops yesterday and it was a rough game for Seth to even think straight.  Meemaw, Ronnie, Jason, Amy, Michelle, Causby and Aimee all came to watch Seth play.  It was a 1:20 game and it was 99 degrees.  It was SO HOT.  Seth had a heat stroke and was not well.  He had a pounding headache, nausea and coloring was terrible.  We all went out to eat, got him in the AC and some water but he was not getting better. I ended up leaving the restaurant and bringing him home.  We were in Garland and made it all the way to Lebanon and Legacy before he puked.  No worries, momma is ALWAYS prepared and had a vomit bag.  We got home and he wanted to shower and after a shower he crawled in bed and took a nap.  He woke up and felt great so we headed back over to Meemaw's to see everyone.

Pops

After a very long, hard week for Pops he was called home early this morning.  Memaw and all his kids were there with him as he took his last breath.  We still cannot believe that he is gone.  As we all gathered together we told stories and shared all the memories about Pops.  He will forever be missed and we will see ya when we get there Pops... our diet starts Monday!

For the next few weeks sitting at the football, volleyball and soccer games, I kept looking up waiting for him to walk in.  He loved watching those kids and their sports.

We love you, Pops!

Jonah's Birthday #20

I was going to miss Jonah's birthday this year... Justin was going to be going down for the game so he would see him but momma needed him to wake up to streamers on his door like he has for many, many years.  I reached out to Faith to see if she could help me out.  I showed her what I was thinking and she went all out!  So glad she made my baby boy feel loved.  Jonah text me that morning asking if I had something to do with the "ribbons"  lol

Justin, Jason, Matthew, Kevin and Tyler went down for the weekend for the game and got to hang with Jonah.

Cheer And Smoke Detectors

Game day and of course at midnight the FREAKING smoke alarm starts chirping!  Justin is out of town and I cannot reach so thank goodness Luke is home. I woke up to something and knew I wasn't crazy because Remington came in and was right by my side nudging me.  I waited and of course heard it again and Remi was hot on my tail, he would NOT leave my side.  I finally figure out which one is beeping and it is in the laundry room thank goodness... those ceilings are only 12 foot high.

I went and got Luke to come help me.  He was able to reach with the step stool to just get the battery out.  It stopped beeping, until it didn't!  I went back up to get Luke and ended up going out to the shed at midnight to get the ladder because he could not get enough height with the step stool to put new battery in.  So happy it was only the one that was beeping since I only had 4 batteries.
