Aunt Jo's Tree

In 1982 mom made Aunt Jo this mini tree.  She had all the cousins names in blocks and personalize the gifts under the tree.  Aunt Jo would display this every year.  She ended up making all the nieces one except my mom because she was going to make one of her own but never did.  When we lost Aunt Jo all the cousins decided mom should get this one.  When I went to moms the other day I say it, or so I thought and teared up.  As I got closer I saw that it was not it but one mom had made for Stefanie. She told me she was making all of us one.  I was SO excited!  I cannot wait to see ours!

Texas Tech vs. UT For The Last Time

Well... this game did NOT go well.  The Red Raiders played the Longhorns for the very last time and got smoked.

Thanksgiving

Headed to mom and dads for a non traditional Thanksgiving lunch, Papa made basta and meatballs.  We headed over to Jason and Michelle's a little later to finish the Cowboy game and see The Mortons.  We did not eat, just had dessert.

Today is Pops favorite day... he loved having everyone together, he was there in Spirit.  I could hear him say, "diet starts Monday".

Christmas Tree

I am not even sure WHY I would be surprised.  Justin got most of the lights working so we just went with it.  I started decorating the tree but asked Mimi to come help finish.  She LOVES this time of year.  It looks beautiful as usual!

Fridge Out

Last week I noticed that the ice was wet and not frozen all the way, did not think anything about it until the next day when I went to get ice and there was none.  We had JUST fixed the ice maker 3 weeks before for $150.  I went to make dinner for Seth and Sophia to eat on the way home from school since it was a cheer and soccer night.  I noticed the chicken fries were a little soft, again, I did not think anything about it because I had just bought them an hour before.  When we got home from soccer and cheer they asked for more chicken fries so I grab them and they are still not frozen.  I poke the waffle next to them and my finger went right through it.

We saved all that we could out of the fridge and put it in the cooler.  We lost a lot in the freezer.

The repair guy who was out in July 2022 came back out and said it was the condenser coil $500... did not have the part and had to order it.  Of course Thanksgiving is in a couple of days so the part will be here Friday.  He comes back out on Saturday and replaces the part and said it will be ready in 4 hours.

Four hours comes and goes and it is not cooling, we give it till morning and wake up with an error code and the couple of things in the fridge are not FROZEN and the freezer is 60 degrees.  UGH

Of course it is Sunday so Justin heard from him Sunday night and he said he would come out Monday.  He is back and apparently flip flopped the freezer and fridge.  Fingers crossed this "fixes" it.

Kansas Hunt

Dad, Justin and Nic headed back out to Kansas for the long hunt... 9th -14th.  Dad got here at 6:30 and they got the gypsy rack put on and headed to Nic's to unload everything and re-load with all his stuff.  They headed to Kansas and met up with Gary and Doug.  No deer this time.

Nic was stuck in the stand from morning until the night hunt because a deer decided to set up camp under his stand.

I Will Miss It... One Day

I cannot walk in a room of this house without some type of ball in it!  I know, I know, I will miss it one day.

They Wonder Why Momma...

They literally don't understand WHY momma gets so mad.  This is Sophia's bathroom and the guest bath.  I asked Sophia to take the trash out and she leaves it in front of the fridge... really.

Texas Rangers World Series Champions!

The Texas Rangers WON The World Series!  Justin headed over to Yars to watch the game.  Seth and I watched the last little bit to watch history!

I know Pops was cheering on his Rangers!

Yar opened a bottle of Blantons in 2011 when the Rangers went to the World Series... capped it and said he would open again when they went back!  Tonight he opened it back up!
