Sophia In Broken Bow

Miami
This summer we wanted to try somewhere different for the beach. The kids wanted 30A but we were just there for Spring Break so decided to switch it up. We were not sure where until we saw that Zach Bryan was going to be in Sunrise Florida the dates we were going to be on vacation. Sophia has been begging for tickets and talks about him daily. We all listen to him and love his music. Once we saw that he was going to be in Sunrise we decided to book our trip for Miami. We did not tell the kids we got tickets, we were going to surprise them when we got there but had to end up telling them because Sophia last minute decided she was not going to bring her cowboy hat. I knew she would be so mad at herself for not bringing it, I was going to sneak her boots in my bag and she would have her hat. I made sure she had something she would approve concert worthy packed.
We decided to tell the girls the night before we left. We had an early flight so Elyse spent the night and Justin started going over her packing list. Needless to say, they were speechless and Sophia even started crying. They were SO EXCITED! They ran up and told (screamed) Seth.
We were lucky that we had no problems at the airport considering hundreds of flights were cancelled the day before. We got through security fairly quickly. Thought I was going to vomit when they told me I had to take my flip flops off and did not have any booties for my feet. VOMIT
We got on the plane with no problems... there was a little turbulence for a few minutes and I swear we fell 3 feet at one point. Got there and got the rental car and headed to the house.
After we dropped our stuff at the house we were starving, had not eaten all day so jumped in the car and went to the boardwalk down the street. Parked (paid $20) and then started walking to find a place to eat. We just wanted AC and food. We finally pick a place and well... it was all outdoor eating. It was SO LOUD in there, they had a live man singing. It was beyond hot and we could not even talk to each other it was so loud.
The kids saw more butt cheeks hanging out walking down the beach. We thought we had really screwed up. The beach was PACKED and we were the minority. It was like a party scene.
The next day we decided to drive 45 min. to a state park beach and it was a lot more tame.
The second day we decided to check out the beach down the street from us, Hollywood Beach and it was much more tame since it was a weekday. We got there right before lunch and it was not too crowded. The kids decided they liked it there so that is the beach we went to everyday.
We went to the store and got snacks, drinks and stuff for lunches so we could pack those for the beach. Ended up buying two chairs, a cooler, umbrella and pool noodles. We had to leave it all there because there was no way of getting it on the plane. It was much cheaper to buy it all and leave it than it was to rent it... worth every penny.
We had a great time and the flight home was great too.
