Morton Madness

Today Dakota deployed for Army boot camp.  We are so proud of him and cannot wait to hear from him!   Mom and Dad brought Winston to stay while they were in San Antonio. 

Seth was invited to go see Dude Perfect with Tate and he was beyond excited!  Brittany said they had a blast!  

 I never get pics of the big boys and their friends.  I know that one day they will thank me:)  All the guys went to a movie and then to sleep over at Chases house.  I asked Shelly if she would take a pic for me.  When she told them that a mother had requested a photo of them Jonah apologized. 

 Justin, Jason, Michelle and I headed down to Austin this morning to go to Sams funeral.  We left the kids home this trip because we were driving back home that night.  Jonah had the day off from football but Luke had to be at Freshman orientation at 8:30 so Matt took him for us.  Nori made them take a picture :)  Nic and Carlie had Seth and Sophia and Jonah stayed with Remington.  We got back in town at 11:00 so Dominic brought the littles home so they could go to sleep before we got home.  The service for Sam was beautiful, we released butterflies after the reception.  We headed home and stopped for lunch and then stopped in Waco for a dipped cone because 35 was stopped.  We will never forget Justin's giant dipped cone incident. 

Papa gave Seth his old phone and he is SO excited that he can now text Mimi and Papa.  Had to set some ground rules... NO texting before 9:00 am.  Mimi and Papa like to sleep in now that they are retired.  He texts them good morning and good night and and gets SO excited when he sees the three dots showing that they are responding.  

We were close to the beach and had a great little house.  We had fun at the beach and then would come home and swim.  Jonah, Luke and Justin went on a fishing trip and what a crazy trip that was.  They saw a man swimming in the middle of the ocean so stopped to help him out.  He jumped on the boat and had one leg.  The fishing was terrible and Luke only got one fish.  They did bring it home and we cooked it up, it was really good.  We woke up one morning and the Suburban had a flat tire, Justin and Jonah changed it and then went to get it patched.  Justin dropped the gypsy rack on his head when he was taking it out of the hitch and gashed his head pretty good.   I made these frames with the shells we collected over the week.  I am going to give one to Meemaw and Pops for Christmas.

We were not sure if we were going to be able to sneak away this summer but we made it happen.  We booked a house in Panama City Beach, FL a week before we left.  Jonah had his permit so we let him drive, after about 30 min. he asked if we could switch drivers... WHAT, we just stopped 30 min. ago so you could drive.  I made him drive for another 30 min. before we stopped.  I was in the backseat and was a nervous wreck with him driving that fast on the interstate.   I was more worried about all the other people on the road and him not knowing exactly how to react if something were to happen.  We stopped in Alabama at Dreamland BBQ for dinner.
