So if you know the Morton brothers (Ronnie, Jason and Justin) you most likely know that they call each other butt head and dude! They have done this for as long as I can remember... So today after school I am going through Jonah's backpack and this is what I see on his assignment. Thank you Morton boys! :)

Proud new owners of 4745 Druid Hills
This morning Justin and I closed on the new house. We do not really know if it has hit us yet... we do not have the keys, they will call this afternoon when we can come and pick them up. I think it will then hit us. Jonah was at school and Jenny watched Luke for us. She took the Luke and Tyler to the Heard Museum out in McKinney.

Hanging out at Mimi and Papa's
Jonah lost a tooth
On Friday Jonah woke up with a loose tooth and by Sunday night... it was out... with the help of Papa. Jonah asked Papa if he wanted to wiggle his tooth so Papa wiggled it and they heard a pop and it started bleeding. Jonah went to the bathroom and said, "I can handle this" and started messing with it more. Papa got the video camera out and taped him doing it, Luke was right by his side. The Papa asked Jonah if he could try and get it. Papa grabbed the paper towel, grabbed the tooth and pulled. Jonah did not even know it was out! He was so excited and asked if the tooth fairy was going to come.
When we got home from Mimi and Papa's we put his tooth under his pillow to see what the tooth fairy would bring.

Stalking some house lookers...
When we have a showing there are times where I load up the boys and go and park the car a few houses up the street. I do not like to go anywhere only because the people looking are only there for about 10 min.
So today we had a showing from 3:00-4:00. I load the boys up in the car at 2:50 and go and park in front of some neighbors. We wait.... wait and wait some more... At 3:26 CSS calls and says that the realtor would like to reschedule from 3:45-4:45 and apologizes for being late. No problem... what the heck am I going to do to keep these boys happy and content for the next hour or so??? So they FINALLY show up at 4:06. After they got there I pulled to the community pool parking lot and wait to watch them pull out of the hood. By 4:18 they were done, so I headed home and see Justin pulling up from playing golf, perfect timing.
The boys were AWESOME! We found some things to do to keep us from getting bored.
Mommy, look at me!

5 weeks to go
Hard to believe that this little girl is going to be here in only FIVE weeks. It has flown by.
I had an appointment today and they did the Strep B test and the normal check, weight, (only gained one pound in two weeks) blood pressure, measure my tummy, heartbeat and everything looked great. He also said that she is up in OK and I am not dilated at all and she is head down.
I will now start my weekly checks until she gets here.
First loose tooth
This morning Jonah told me that his tooth was loose. I asked him which one and he pointed and sure enough... it is loose! He is so excited. A couple of days ago he told me that his tooth hurt and when I asked him which one that was the one. I told him maybe it was loose and checked but could not feel a wiggle. Will keep you posted when he looses it :) My baby is getting too big.
Nice day in January

mmm when it hits your lips
My new years resolution was to stop going to Starbucks EVERYDAY :) It worked. I only had ONE in 14 days. YEA me... toot toot (that is me tooting my own horn)
The boys were in San Antonio with mom and dad and Justin was working in Boston for the weekend. Mommy was home all alone and boy did I ever deserve a grande 6 pump no water chai latte. I took a picture so I could send it to Justin so he could know that mommy broke... and got a Starbucks.
I am happy to announce that I only treat myself once, MAYBE twice a week now. We save it for the weekends.
Crazy quite
Well, it has been crazy quite around the Morton house for the last couple of days... Mom and dad went to San Antonio to see Stefanie, Tommy and the kids (to deliver Christmas gifts) since they were unable to make it home for the holidays. Mom called Monday and asked and the boys could go with them. You did not seriously think any mother in their right mind would say "No" do you?
Well... Jonah almost did not make the trip... read the blog entry before this one and you will see. We told Jonah that if he got a sticker in his MOOSE folder then he would get to go with Luke. Well, he came home with a note instead so we decided that he would not make the trip. He of course was SO upset. When he came home Thursday he had a sticker... thank goodness. So Justin and I talked it over and thought since it was family then we should give him the option of loosing the trip or loosing the Wii for a few weeks. He chose loose the Wii. I am so glad that we decided to let him go. Not only because we knew he would have fun but it would give me a nice break. Justin flew out to Boston Saturday at 1:00 so I would be all alone. Sure it was lonely and QUITE but it has been a nice break. I think I needed the break since I am 6 weeks away from having little what's her name :)
The boys did not have school on Friday so I dropped them off at mom and dads around 12:30 and they headed south. The boys were so excited they could hardly stand it. They did ask me how long it would take to get there and I told them a while, it is past Aunt Amy's house (in Austin). On their way down Jonah asked Mimi how to spell a word. She asked him what he was doing and he said, "texting my mom". Below is the text he sent.
Jonah: How. Are. You. ? Doing.
Love. Jonah
Mommy: Great! Are you on the road?
Jonah: Yes. It. Is. Rain
L
Mommy: Tell Papa to drive careful. I love you guys
Jonah: Ok. Mom
Little toot! He is too smart for his own good. Six years old and texting :) LOL
Also, when they got close to Aunt Stefanie's they called to tell me they were about 10 min. away. Jonah was talking to me and he said, "woa, that car just got pulled over by the police, oh my gosh..." I hear mom in the background laughing and telling Jonah to give her the phone. Mom gets on and says, "that boy is lying through his teeth". Jonah is in the back seat cracking up. God love him...
I will post pics when I get them. I cannot wait to hear all about their trip.

Jonah Jonah Jonah
For the past few weeks we have really noticed Jonah acting out... well, more than normal :) When Jonah gets home from school I read the note that his art teacher has written saying that Jonah was not listening and had to be moved to another table and then was arguing with table mates. So then I get this email from his teacher. Read below. I must say that the last sentence about made me wet myself. I know that he should not talk back but that is such a Jonah thing to say.
I responded to his teacher telling her that his new sister will be here by the end of Feb. and that we are going to be moving soon. I am sure that has something to do with it. She mentioned that he has been talking about moving a lot.
We had a talk with him last night telling him that he needs to start listening and following directions and bla bla bla. He is supposed to be going to San Antonio this weekend with Mimi and Papa to see his cousins but is aware that if he does not have a good rest of the week at school then he will not go to San Antonio.

I don't know what is going on with Jonah, so I wondered if you could offer some insight. I have had 3 teachers complain about his behavior. Yesterday, Mrs. Jones said he was not making good choices in Music and not listening to directions. Today, he was disciplined in the lunchroom for playing "guns" and after he was told not to, he continued the inappropriate behavior. See also, the note from Mrs. Norton. In my classroom, he has not been very nice to classmates. He is not taking responsibility for his choices (as we talked about, before). We have been talking about Martin Luther King and slavery, so when I asked him to walk the think track throughout recess, he said that I was making him a slave!!

Baby shower for little what's her name
This weekend Carley, Daphne and Julianne hosted a baby shower for me. It turned out so nice and I had a great time and came home with lots of great things for this little no name girl :) Daphne made some yummy food as always... Julianne opened up her house for the party that morning even though she had 15 7 year olds coming that night for Maddie and Ally's slumber party. I did not get pictures of the food table, I forgot, go figure. There was a french toast and ham with eggs and fruit and cupcakes. No mixed nuts of course until later. LOL

Papa and his peanut butter on a spoon
For as long as I can remember my dad has always gotten a spoonful of peanut butter and eaten it. We even did it as kids. The other night Jonah and Luke spent the night with mom and dad and of course Papa had his peanut butter in a spoon. Jonah walked over to him and said, "Papa do you eat that peanut butter so you can get protein".
So tonight after dinner Jonah went to the pantry and got the peanut butter and a spoon. He brought it over to me with a huge grin on his face. I could not resist taking a picture and after I took it Jonah said, "will you send that picture to Papa". So here is to you Papa!
Jonah is so hard on himself
Every week Jonah brings home a new book and a list of words that we go over. After he reads the book, we have to sign off that he read it and make a comment on how he did. Yesterday Jonah brought home a new book for the week to practice reading. When I pulled it out of his backpack and walked over to him he saw the book and he immediately got upset. He told me that he was NOT going to read that book and started crying. When I asked him what was wrong he told me that the book is hard to read and he will never get to bring a new book home and he also said, "I am six years old and can read, but NOT this book". I told him that Mrs. Jamison wrote me a note saying that this book might be challenging but she wanted to see how he did with it.
He was still very upset and I told him that I would help him with the words that he did not know, we could sound them out together. After a 15 minute meltdown, we sat on his bed and he started reading it. The book was 24 pages with a sentence on each page. He was doing awesome until page 12. He came across the word "isn't" and stumbled on it. He of course got upset and I told him not to and sounded it out for him. He continued to read. The next word was "always" and then he kept on going.
Go figure... he cruised right over the word Hanukkah with NO problem. Seriously... he can get that word? So he finished the book and gave him a high five and he was so proud of himself. I told him to stop being so hard on himself all the time, we practice so we can learn.
You would seriously think that I was mommy dearest! Make him do everything perfect, trust me, we do not do that. We let him make mistakes so he can learn. He is just to hard on himself. He is a perfectionist, which we are working on. I tell him all the time that everyone makes mistakes. His teacher also works with him on that.
When we first started reading Luke decides to come in the room, stand in front of Jonah and rip one... He starts dying laughing and says, "Jonah, did that cheer you up"? COME ON LUKE!
