Just call me Parvo

I like to think that I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Last Sunday my little finger started hurting. I kept complaining about it wondering what on earth I had done to it. I could not remember hitting it on anything. Later that night I noticed my knee hurting. I did not think anything about it until the next morning when I woke up and both knees, my little finger and now my thumb on my other hand were hurting. I could not figure out what was going on. I put Sophia down for her morning nap and was walking downstairs and then fell down a few of them. By that afternoon I could not move my hands. I decided it was time to call the doctor. Justin stayed home on Tuesday so he could take me to the doctor because I could not drive, I could not bend my hands. I then noticed a rash on my arms and torso. It was not raised or did not itch, just red lacy like.

So I go in and explain what is going on and he tells me that it sounds like ParvoVirus B19 also known as Fifths Disease. WHAT WHAT? They did some blood work and it came back positive for ParvoVirus B19. I have NO idea where or when I got it. I showed no symptoms of being sick, they say that after your break out into the rash that your are no longer contagious. I would like to send out an apology to all the folks I had been around while infected :) I did not know! SORRY...

Of course Justin was leaving town at 6:00 am on Wednesday until Friday night. HELLLLLLOOOOO I cannot move, it hurts SO flippin' bad and he has to leave town??? He leaves, I get the kids ready for school and guess what! Sophia wakes up with a fever. Fabulous... I can't move, Justin is out of town and Sophia is sick! Nina is off work for a few weeks so she came out to help me. SHE ROCKS! I could not get off the couch, when I did I would have to crank myself up and it would take me forever to get going. Nina ended up spending the night and staying all day Thursday until Pops could come relieve her. Pops got here to help out until Nic and Carlie came with dinner. Thankfully Justin was just in Austin and Houston and could come home early. He was here Thursday night around 9:00 so that was a relieve.

I am still really sore and swollen. I could hardly get my shoes on my feet yesterday they were so swollen. It is slowly hitting EVERY joint in my body. It is now in my shoulders and my toes. I am hoping it goes away soon because it is a virus so they only thing you can take is ibuprofen. Until then, you can call me Parvo... THIS IS THE CRAZIEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME!
