Old post holds true.

So if you keep up with my blog you will understand why I am putting this picture in. Again, Luke is THE FART MASTER! Also, read the note from his teacher!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad & The Royal Wedding

Happy 39th Anniversary to my parents! Guess we will never forget when William and Kate got hitched...

I must admit, I was SO BEAT DOWN about hearing about this wedding I really did not care a thing about it. I would turn the TV off every time they would talk about it or at least hit the mute button. I was not even going to turn the TV on that day to be honest. I was OVER IT! Yes, I know it only happens once every 30 years or so but I guess I have my own things to worry about. Then I got a text from Lauren saying that she was going to have a tea and watch the wedding and wanted to know if I could come. I thought to myself, why not. So Sophia and I headed over there and Lauren had made tea, finger sandwiches, and scones. She even had the china out!

While eating we turned the recorded ceremony on and I just chased Sophia around. After about 3o minutes of that I was beat so we loaded up and left. Lauren could not believe that I was not going to stay for the ceremony. Sorry girl! Thanks for having us though.

So, my point being... I better blog about this special day showing that I was alive and well during a "Royal Wedding".

The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton captivated the world last Friday. At least it seemed that way. More than 7,000 press credentials were issued for the wedding. More than 20 make shift broadcast booths were built in a temporary structure outside of Buckingham Palace for foreign media to capture “the kiss”.

Eleven U.S. networks carried the entire wedding festivities including E!, TLC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, Univision, Fox News Channel and BBC America. According to Neilson, an average of 22.8 million US viewers tuned in for the actual ceremony between 5 – 6:15 a.m. central time. And that’s just the tv coverage.

Twitter has reported that there were 2.6 million Tweets on Friday about the wedding. Facebook estimates that 1.953 million U.S. users and 1.004 million British users posted updates about the wedding. Most every print and on-line newspaper covered the story in some form or fashion.

That did not take long

So a couple of days after Justin got his truck I get an email from him saying that his new exhaust is on the way and should be here in a few days. It has started... all the accessories you can buy for a truck are headed to Frisco, TX. A couple of days later he ordered his Ducks Unlimited license plates and of course put his DU shield on his window. Now he looks like an official duck hunter :)

So UPS delivers his new exhaust and he is so excited. He got home about 7:00 from work, we ate dinner and he could not wait until tomorrow to put the exhaust on. He goes out about 8:00 and the stock one comes off in minutes. He is pretty excited about that. HELLLLLOOOOOOO, we ARE THE MORTONS! Surely he did not think the new one was going to go on as easy as the stock came off... did he?

Of course not! He goes to put it on and the new exhaust is about 6 inches too long. He needs something to cut it off, do you think we have that "something" to cut it off? NO

So by this time it is well after 9:00 and he has to make a trip to Auto Zone. One problem, he cannot start his truck or would wake up the entire city of Frisco with no exhaust on. No problem, take my car. Ummmmmmmm it is in the garage and did I mention that Justin's truck is parked at an angle directly behind me? No worries, he is determined to get it out of the garage. (side note, it is a SUBURBAN folks)! So I go out to help him direct him so he does not hit his truck or the side of the garage for that matter. For those of you who do not know it is ridiculous how you have to get in our garage.

Long story short he did it! I am not sure how but he did it without hitting his truck of the house.

He gets home an hour later with a 12 pack of Miller Light and some kind of electric saw, cutter thing. he is pumped. Although by now it is after 10:00 and he cannot start sawing through metal without making a ton of noise. He decided to close up shop until morning.

Morning came and he got the exhaust cut and put on within 20 minutes. He started the truck and his face lit up like a kid in a candy shop.

14 months old

Sophia LOVES getting up on the couch these days. She is so proud of herself when she gets up. When she sees me coming with a diaper she will start laughing and run and get in the corner of the couch and bury her head.

Easter

The Easter Bunny came to visit... We headed to mom and dads for lunch and the Easter Bunny left eggs there for the kids to hunt. Sophia had so much fun!

Daddy's new toy

Justin has been talking about wanting a truck for a while now. He LOVED his car but he really did not fit in it. He would complain about his back hurting every time he got in or out of it. He could not move the seat or his head would hit the roof. He FINALLY did it! He got himself a F150. I am not sure who likes it more... Justin or Jonah and Luke.

that time of year...

Well, it's that time of year to be thinking about what the boys will do for summer. This morning I spent a good while signing the boys up for VBS and Science Camp. I was doing all of this on my phone so Sophia could pull at my leg and scream the entire time. I finally got them signed up and sent Justin an email (8:40 am) telling him I signed them up and put it on the Visa. I let him know since we rarely use the Visa and thought if for some strange reason he looked at it he would see these charges. Just a stab in the dark. We NEVER look at that credit card because like I said, we NEVER use it.

At 9:00 am I get an email from Justin saying that there were fraudulent charges on the credit card and he was disputing them as he typed this. 9:20 another email confirming the charges were removed and a new credit card was being issued. SERIOUSLY? I JUST put those on there for the boys camp. It did not even take 20 minutes for this all to go down. I call him to tell him that I sent an email and WHY would he happen to look at the card today? Of course he did not answer. So I try calling back a few minutes later and he answers. I tell him the situation and he said, " I did not know you put them on there". I asked why he was looking at the credit card statement and he said that Visa called him and told him there were fraudulent charges. Guess I should send a shout out to the Visa Fraud Department. Holla!

Back to square one...

Poor baby

Luke LOVES to draw, so when he was over at the desk working away I could not wait to see what he was working on. When he was done he was running around yelling for Jonah. Jonah would not answer which usually means he is in the bathroom. Luke continues to scream and proceeds to try and open the bathroom door because he is just SO excited about what he has made. Jonah finally finishes up and Luke shows him his masterpiece. They are both laughing hysterically at this point. I ask Luke to show me what he did and well... maybe I should not have :) he made a mask for Sophia's baby.

Ever wonder...

...what the back of a suburban during soccer season with four chairs, two soccer balls, couple of blankets, some jackets, a stroller and a weeks worth of groceries looks like? Wonder no more!

Good Friday/Earth Day = Walk to School Day

In honor of Earth Day we walked to school today. The boys usually take the bus so they were super excited that we could walk. Today is a make up day at school for all the bad weather days we had at the first of the year. I am so glad that they chose Good Friday as a make up day but we had off for Presidents Day. REALLY???

Justin has the day off of work so he got to walk with us. He will be playing golf again this year in the annual tournament for David Graves son.

I sent a picture of the boys walking to school to their grandparents and Justin responds to the email with this... ..."and then we drove our 5000lb SUV to Starbucks....and used the drive through! Thanks Earth Day!"

Dallas Cup XXXII

Justin surprised the boys tonight by taking them to the
Arsenal FC (England) vs Club Bolivar (Bolivia) Dallas Cup game. They were super excited to be going on a school night. They got to get some nachos with the "melted" cheese on it. Jonah was so excited to tell me about the urinals and how there was a ball that you peed on to make the ball go into the net. Oh to be a boy...

Luke's new bike

We took the training wheels off Luke's bike and wanted him to give it a try. Of course he moaned and groaned that he did not want to learn, he wanted his training wheels back on. He was doing pretty good and had daddy and Papa teaching him. We will still need a little more practice.

Always my babies...

We loaded the kids in the car and headed to Weirs to do a little furniture shopping. Sophia did not want in the stroller but her brothers sure did. I am pretty sure there is a weight limit for an umbrella stroller.

T R O U B L E

Little miss climber is on the loose... I thought only boys were supposed to climb or was that just wishful thinking on my part?

Sophia's first art project

Sophia had her first experience with a pen she found laying on the table. Of course I had told Jonah THREE times that he needed to put his paper and pen away because Sophia can get it. So of course he did not listen and sister went to work. I was very impressed with how little she actually got on the table.

Jonah came home and of course said in his not so nice voice, "uhhhhhh, who marrrrrrrrked on my paper?" I told him that Sophia did because he chose not to listen when I asked him to put the pen and paper away. MAYBE he will start listening... I doubt it though :)

Happy Birthday Justin

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

Birthdays are not like they used to be now that we are grown and have three kiddos.

5:30 came early this morning... that is when Ben woke up. I came up and got him and told Caroline and Luke to go back to sleep and took Ben down and put him in bed with Justin and I. He fell back asleep until about 7:00. Of course we had our Starbucks to get us going this morning so we could make it through three soccer games with six kids... Bless the crazies who have this many children, I am not sure how they do it. By 9:20 this morning all chitlins were fed with teeth and hair brushed, dressed, drenched in sunscreen and loaded in the car.

Oh, come on folks... you did not really think that you could get six kids in the car without SOMEONE getting mad about where they had to sit now did ya? Of course the two little ones do now have a say in the matter so it was up to the other four. So that said, get in, sit down, buckle up and well, you know the rest! ha ha ha

Luke had a 10:00 game and he was SO close to scoring a goal. He was being so aggressive today. Jonah's game started at 10:30 so Justin took Ben and Matthew with him to his field, sadly I missed Jonah SCORE a goal, YEA JONAH! After Jonah's game we loaded up and headed to Chick Fil A for a quick bite before heading down to Dallas for Caroline's 1:00 game.

We were not sure how long it would take us to get there so we just ate in the car and then got there WAY TOO EARLY so Sophia had a 20 min. nap while the others watched a movie. We unloaded and reapplied the sunscreen and were ready for round three.

Caroline did great! She almost scored a goal too.

We were all smothered in sunscreen and dripping with sweat when we loaded up to head home. Ben literally fell asleep as we were driving up the driveway and stayed asleep while Justin brought him in and put him on the bed.

The Mortons come for the weekend

A few weeks ago Kelly asked if we would be willing to help out watching the kids for the weekend. She would drop them off Friday after school and then wanted us to drop them off with a babysitter Sat. afternoon until Meemaw got off work Sat. night. I told her NO, absolutely not! I would watch them ONLY if we did not have to drop them off with a babysitter on Sat. :) She said that she would have to talk to Jason about that... well she did and they decided to drop the babysitter.

We knew it might get a little crazy with six kids but it would be SO MUCH FUN! Kelly dropped the kids off right before 2:00 Friday and 12 minutes after she left Ben dropped a deuce in his drawers. Caroline and I had a good laugh as we were cleaning it up.

Caroline had a birthday last week so we decided to have a little celebration of our own. We had pizza and made cupcakes and had ice cream. We were also celebrating Justin's birthday.

After cake and ice cream everyone was showered and ready for bed or should I say the process of bed. Finally at 8:30 we rounded up the troops to settle in. We had three soccer games in the morning to get to. Of course they all started out sleeping together but ended up Jonah in his bed, Matthew in the guest room with a king bed all to himself and Luke, Ben and Caroline on the floor.

Finally everyone was asleep by 9:40, now I could go get in bed :)

Mommy just wants ONE picture

Oh the joy of trying to take a picture of a child who is mobile and wants the camera in her hands. Aunt Amy bought Sophia this dress for her birthday and Caroline one to match. I just wanted one cute picture to send to Aunt Amy. It was NOT that easy. Sophia is NOT a fan of clips or bows in her hair. She will rip it out faster than I can get it in.
