New Year Eve

Nina was able to come and watch the kids so we could head out to a child free dinner with some friends/neighbors. We went to The Dive with Chad, Cole, Mark, Diane and another couple that we did not know, Gregg, Heather and their son Grant.

We had a great time and enjoyed not rushing though dinner. I highly recommend The Dive, the food was really good. Diane was a hoot, she brought her own flask of potato vodka because she is allergic to wheat and corn.

After dinner we headed over to Jenny and Kev's to say hello for a little while. We did not even stay until midnight, I was beat and Nina needed to get home.

Can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for The Mortons!

Jonah & Lukes first morning hunt

If you want to see the boys faces light up just ask them if they want to go hunting! Last night Justin asked the boys if they thought they could get up EARLY in the morning to duck hunt. They of course said, "well, how early". 4:30! Thats how early. Papa was going to be here a little before 5:00 and then they were going to swing by and pick Uncle Nic up.

4:30 came early for them and they popped out of bed and headed down to get dressed. I had all the camo laid out along with some clothes and told them to keep their jammies on for added warmth. Well, of course they did not hear the jammie part. They loaded up and headed out right before 5:00.

As Sophia and I were laying in bed watching Dora I thought I heard Justin's truck pull up the drive... My first thought was panic! WHY were they home at 7:00? Someone was hurt, my heart was racing as I got up and ran into the living room. I see the boys laughing and Justin looks at me and says that they were FREEZING and were miserable and he was headed back out to get Dad and Nic and finish the hunt. He said that it was 32 degrees and when they turned off the road it dropped to 21 degrees. No wonder they were cold! Poor babies, remember... the did not hear the part about keeping on their jammies for another layer!

Needless to say, it might be a while before they head out for a morning hunt anytime soon.

Christmas Card 2011

I do not even know who I am anymore! LOL I have been putting things off more and more lately! We never had a chance to get pictures done so I just went with these. They are great pictures that Nic took on a random Sunday at moms so I could put them in a frame ornament. I sat down at the computer at 8:30 Tuesday the 20th and looked through a few cards and this is what made the cut. The cards came at 4:00 on Thursday the 22nd and I had them addressed and in the mail Friday the 23rd. Better late than never.

Help youuuuuuuuu

Sophia LOVES to take out the garbage and the recycle to the garage. If she hears you in the kitchen doing just that, she will stop what she is doing and come to help. She will put a new trash bag in the can and then drag the full bag to the garage.

Do you remember what I just said? She will STOP what she is doing to come help. Well obviously she was sitting on the potty with her pants around her ankles and heard daddy taking the trash out. She JUMPS up and proceeds to help. Notice her pants around her ankles and her little goolie hanging out.

The Mortons come to hang out

The Mortons headed back over the day after Christmas for left overs and to hang out. We all had a great time getting to visit. The kids got to play outside a little bit before the rain started including the "big" boys. That would be Justin dunking the ball. Caroline was so excited when Sophia FINALLY let her hold her.

We sent the boys to the store to get stuff to make taco soup for dinner and Jason came back with stuff for homemade brownies.

22 months old

Sophia is 22 months old today! She is just really starting to watch some TV and loves Dora, Cake (Strawberry Shortcake), Via (Olivia) and Pat Pat (Little Einstein's). She still calls Luke, Ookie and Jonah, Boy. We are working on getting her to start calling him by his name again.

She has had a verbal explosion in the last couple of weeks and has started to talk in 3-4 word sentences.

Christmas round 3

The Mortons headed our way about 3:00 so we could have Christmas and eat dinner. We were excited to have the Houston Mortons here with us this year and we were all so thankful when Pops GOT TO SIT DOWN AND EAT WITH US! We missed Sam and Amy but got to talk to them. Justin made some ribs and Nina made a turkey, dressing and all the sides. The kids opened up their gifts and the light up light sabers were a huge hit!

Christmas Morning

The boys were up at 5:30 this morning ready to see what Santa had left for them under the tree. I was very surprised they waited until 6:30 to come down stairs and get us. They asked if they could come out of their room because it was so boring in there. We waited a little while for Sophia to wake up and she decided to sleep in of course. We finally went and woke her up.

The boys asked Santa for an iTouch and I guess they were good because Santa delivered. They also got a few books and the Harry Potter DVD collection along with the Harry Potter book Series.

Sophia loaded up on some Dora and Olivia books and some other goodies. She got a couple of babies and a Dora soccer ball and a basketball.

We headed over to mom and dads for lunch and had Christmas with Grannie. After lunch we headed back home so we could get ready for The Mortons to come over for another round.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we headed over to mom and dads house to open up gifts from Mimi and Papa. We did this so we would not be rushed before lunch at mom and dads and then all The Mortons over at our house for dinner. Stef, Tommy and the kids got to come in town to celebrate with us so that was nice. The boys were so excited to get their Pokemon binders from Aunt Carlie and Uncle Nic and their Lego sets from Mimi and Papa. They got Target Gift Cards from Aunt Stef so they cannot wait to go and spend those.

Justin and I decided we were finally going to get a good camera for ourselves this year. We have been talking about it and just did it! We love it!
