Basta and meatballs

The boys spent the night with Mimi and Papa and of course got donuts cause, "they wanted hit"... After breakfast they helped Papa make meatballs for the basta. Luke made the little ones. They turned out great!

Last hunt of the season

This weekend was the last hunt of the season. Justin and Chad loaded up and headed out early so they could get a good spot knowing that it would be crowded since it was the last weekend and the lake actually had water in it!

They limited out and got two beautiful Spoonbills! I can't wait to see them mounted!

Donuts with Dad

This morning Sophia had Donuts with Dad at school.

The sign is up!

It has been a long and stressful process for Sam and Amy but the hospital is right on schedule! The sign is up and things are getting completed for the April 2012 opening. So proud of Sam and Amy!

23 months old

23 months old!

It has been a rough month in the sleeping department for little miss Sophia. She has only slept through the night about 8 times this month. The other nights she has been up 3-5 times every night. We do not know if it is her two year molars or what is going on. Not to mention Luke has been getting up with nightmares a lot lately.

She has been a little busy body and does not stop talking. She will clam up when people come around but soon warms up. In the last week she has really opened up and will talk to anyone, especially if we are out in public. When someone walks by she will just start waving to them so then they start talking and so does she.

She can really converse with us now and she will answer us when we ask a question. I cannot believe how much difference a week can make.

She has slept in her big girl bed three times (per her request) and only once made it through the night. We put a gate in her doorway so she could not come down stairs in the night. That of course did not stop her, she crawled out of the bed, put her arm over the gate and popped the lock and set it against the wall. She is now back in her crib... per my request! HA

She is calling Jonah by his name now and not "boy". When she sees the boys get off the bus she runs and yells, "Hi Jonah, Hi Ookie" and gives them a hug.

Now when daddy comes home she yells, "hey dad" over and over until he gets in the house. She of course got that from her big brothers.

She still loves to eat any and everything. She can work the iPhone like anyone can. She will slide the bar and click on Netflix and start a movie all by herself. Maybe we should get her an iTouch for her birthday... NOT

Hello Rain

On Tuesday it started raining around 5:00 that evening and it rained ALL night long and until 11:00 or so Wednesday morning. We needed the rain so bad. I think the total was about 3.5 -4 inches. Here is our backyard the next day.

I'm sorry, WHAT?

Tonight for dinner we met Justin at Brooklyns. When I told the boys where we were going they asked if they could bring quarters so they could buy some "junk" in the machines. I told them that was fine and of course the machine eats the money and Luke gets upset so he goes and tells the lady at the front and she gives him more quarters and GUESS WHAT! It eats them again. I told him to pick another machine. Jonah decides he needs some bling... maybe its the Italian in him. LOL

So fast forward to out drive home. Jonah says, "mom, can I get my ear pierced"? Silence... crickets chirping... more silence. Maybe if I ignore him he will drop it, right? NOT A CHANCE! "Mom, can I get my ear pierced"?

As I regain control of the Suburban... (not really) my response, "sure, you can start wearing dresses and hair bows too."

His response, "no mom, just the little stud one and in one ear, not both."

WHAAAAAATTTTTTT?

My answer was NO and he asked why and I told him that it is for girls, not boys. Jonah's response, "then why does my friend have HIS pierced"? I obviously could not answer that and did not really want to even make a reason up as to WHY ON EARTH a second grade boy has his ear pierced.

How about you ask your dad when we get home. He makes the rules :) So when we get home he asks dad and you can imagine his response!

Soooooo, the next day he gets home from school and I notice his jewels on his hand. He wore them ALL day.

Aunt Jill's visit

Aunt Jill came in town for Jac's 1st birthday and we got to steal her away for an afternoon. Jeff and the boys headed to our house along with Nina, Jason and Kelly for some football and hot dogs. It was so great to visit with them! We missed everyone else who could not make it.

Report cards are in

Jonah is pulling a fast one over on his momma! EVERY single day, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we have homework, EVERY week. I do not assign it to him, school does so why is it moms fault that he has homework? 9 out of 10 times there are tears involved, why do we have homework, homework is stupid, school is 7 hours of wasted time and bla bla bla.

I guess they think I love to do it all over again while they are griping and crying and Sophia has a death grip on my leg screaming because she wants up to see and mommy is about to have a breakdown. For some reason Jonah has NO idea how to do it and needs my help. Well dude, the proof is below, YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT! You went up in all subjects so NO MORE TEARS please!

Luke does not get "grades" yet, only check marks and he did AWESOME too. He got all check marks!

You go boys! Glad you get that from your daddy! HA

Surgery scheduled

Went to the doctor today for a check up and only gained a pound! We set a date for surgery and it is scheduled for March 9th. My next appointment is scheduled for two weeks and I will have a sonogram. I can't wait to see the little guy!

Croquet

When we were in Austin this summer Aunt Amy sent us home with a croquet set. We finally busted it out on this gorgeous day. I think the boys were more interested in swinging the mallets then actually playing the game... needless to say the game ended quickly!

Morton Slumber Party

We are obviously having fun with the new camera! It was a beautiful day and we played outside for a few hours and surprised the boys with a cousin sleep over. The kids had a great time building forts and playing Legos. They were all asleep by 10:00 (which has NEVER happened) and they all went down really easy. Caroline was mother hen to Sophia and she was having a great time with her big cousin.

Force

Here are some action shots of Luke in his game today.

First Day report

When I picked Sophia up there were a couple of kids still sleeping and she was at the table playing with two other girls. I stood and watched her for a couple of minutes and then said her name and when she looked up she stuck out her bottom lip and started saying, "momma, momma" and got upset.

Mrs. Jamie and Mrs. Jessica said she had a great day... except for nap time. She got upset when she saw the nap mat come out and they said she got worked up so they held her for a few minutes then she laid down and slept for 20 minutes. I can't wait to see how Friday goes.

Oh, you want to know what I did with the FIVE hours of freedom? I came home, watched a little TV, blogged, did few loads of laundry and cleaned out a closet looking for a library book.

Sophia's first day of Preschool

Right before Christmas break I registered Sophia in the Preschool Pals program at Stonebriar Community Church. I have been talking to her about going to school and playing with friends and having fun. She would repeat to me, "friends, fun" and smile. We ordered a nap mat and I would let her lay on it and tell her that she was going to take a nap on it when she starts school. She had fun "practicing" laying on it.

When we got to her classroom this morning she walked right in, shut the door behind her and stood there with her finger in her mouth. I walked her over to some dolls and the play kitchen area and she started playing so I snuck out.

There were two other children starting the program today too so hopefully they all have a great day together. I cannot wait to see how she did when I pick her up!

FINALLY!

December 15, 2010 Jonah lost his front tooth. Here we are OVER a year later and the tooth is FINALLY popping out! We could see that the gum has been swollen for a long time and that the tooth was there, just NOT coming down. This past weekend Mimi told him to rub his finger along his gum and massage it. He said it hurt but kept doing it. Yesterday when he got home from school he said something to me and I stopped him dead in his tracks and said, "Is your tooth out, let me see"! He told me that he remembered what Mimi had said to him and he was rubbing it all day at school.

New Years Day

We headed over to Mimi and Papas for New Years Day. Grannie was there so we got to visit with her too. It was a gorgeous day and the boys were begging to swim. I seriously thought about letting them jump in and see how long it would last! Then I thought to myself... school is starting back tomorrow, I cannot risk one of them getting sick :) They decided to shoot their bows instead. Sophia of course wanted in on the action.
