Recruit Of The Week

This next week at school Jonah will be the Recruit Of The Week!  WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS JUST HOW PROUD WE ARE OF JONAH!  In order to become the recruit you have to be on your best behavior and kind to others.  In other words... Jonah did not have to have the last word with his teacher, was kind to his classmates and did acts of kindness without being asked!
Jonah has been wanting a skateboard so we made it happen to show him how proud we are.

As some of you may know, we had a rough patch with Jonah.  Lets just say that the principal and I were (are) on a first name basis!  There was a phone call about once a week for a few weeks where Jonah was in the office.  I do have to admit that some of the things were pretty sorry reasons to be called down.  ie Jonah talking to a classmate about a 99 year old man being scared of a single raindrop. A thrid classmate joined in and told Jonah that he in fact is TERRIFIED of thunderstorms and Jonah asked him why... and off to the office he went.  That my folks is a form of bullying!  Yep, you heard it here first.

Jonah can be the SWEETEST boy but turn on Luke in a second!  We just have to remember that his personality is a perfectionist and he cannot wrap his head around anyone elses ideas or thought process. If something does not click with him the first time he gets very upset and calls himself a failure.  This happens during homework daily and it breaks my heart.  He wants to rush through and get it done so he does not read the question correctly and misses it.  When he slows down he gets it.  He is and ALWAYS (in his eyes) be FIRST and RIGHT!  You can argue, take things away, wash out his mouth and even spank him and he will STILL GET THE LAST WORD IN!  We have read that we just need to make our statement and walk away... this is the hardest thing for momma bear.

So... CONGRATULATIONS to my little RECRUIT OF THE WEEK.  Mom and dad are SO proud of you.

More SNOW

We woke up to SNOW this morning.  The boys were bummed that  school was not cancelled.  Sophia wanted to make a "no angel" so we suited up and she had a blast.

Boys Hunt

Justin took the boys out hunting this afternoon with Chad.  The boys built their own blind and had fun running in the woods to gather sticks.  As Justin was walking out the door Sophia was having a melt down saying, "daddy, don't leave me daddy, don't leave me".

Jonah's First Digits

As I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner I saw this little gem sitting on the counter.  I asked the boys whose it was and Jonah said it was his.  When I asked him whose number it was, his response, "Taylor".  I asked who that was and he said a girl in his class.  WHAT WHAT?  I asked why he got her number and he told me so they could play Minecraft!  Whooooo, that was close!  :)

Seth 9 Month Well Visit

The Hulk had his 9 month check up today (even though he will be 10 months in a couple of days). Don't get me started on the lady at the front desk... If I did not like Dr. Kaplan so much and the nurses I would not be staying there.

His stats:
Weight: 23lbs 12oz
Length: 28.75 in
Head: 18.25 in

Dr. Kaplan said he is no longer a big big boy! He has not gained weight but maintained since his last visit.

No shots today just a finger poke to check his iron level.

Christmas With The Pooles

Aunt Karen and Uncle Don came in town this weekend so we could celebrate Christmas.  We celebrated at our house and Aunt Karen made her yummy brisket.  Noah was not feeling well, he had a little fever (we think from teething).  He did NOT want his picture taken.  Sophia had a meltdown because she wanted Harper to sit in her lap but she wanted to sit in Jonah's lap.

Seth was showing Noah who was boss when he pushed him away from his toy.  Poor Noah!

Sleep Over

A few days ago I found the boys footed jammies that Jenny had given them last year for Christmas.  Luke LOVES his and Jonah will always start off wearing them but ends up changing before bed because he gets H O T... just like his momma :)

Tyler spent the night and when he put his jammies on the boys were so excited and had to put theirs on too.  I had to get a picture because I knew they would never believe me when I tell them that they wore footed jammies when they were this old!  HA

If You Were An iTouch Where Would You Be?

Buckle up folks because I am going to toot my own horn!! When someone looses something they come to momma! If I have not seen what "it" is I will give them a few ideas of where to look. I have about a 99.9% success rate.

Sooooooooo, yesterday Luke had his iTouch on the couch upstairs. Cousins came over to play and after they left Luke could not find it. I went up and looked and had no luck. I find EVERYTHING! But not this time.

I was determined to find it. Every cushion was removed and I stuck my hand in the deepest, darkest cracks filling my finger nails with I do not even know what! I did find a handful of goodies and I really wish to never speak of again! If you are ever over and something falls in the cracks of my couch... DO NOT stick your hand down there!!! You have been warned.

So, after all the cushion removal, crack exploring and going through every toy bin and all bedrooms, drawers and EVERYTHING FIVE times... NOTHING. For those of you who know me, it was killing me. I had to find it.

I called Aunt Kelly to ask her to ask her kids if they had seen it when they were here and Ben said he saw it on Sophia's bed, Caroline saw Jonah with it by the book shelf.

Bed time...

Morning... Again look everywhere! Nothing!
I have a stack of returns and exchanges from Christmas so I decided I better make a list. I walk over to the bar where my stack is and I hear an alert... An alert I know all too well. The alert you here from an iTouch! It was RIGHT THERE. I heard it!!!!!! It was not Jonah's because his is upstairs... So the panic sets in and I start looking ALL around me. MOMMA FOUND IT!!! I am yelling up to Luke like a fool, telling him to look what I found! WooHoo!

Now that it is found, I will scrub my nails, vacuum out the cracks in the furniture and carry on!
