Night With Three Kids

Luke went to Barrett's Olympic birthday party tonight so we went to Smash Burger with the other three kiddos.  It is always so strange when one is missing!

Luke was Team England and won a medal for shooting the basketball!  He was so excited and exhausted when he got home.

Sophia's Last Day Of School

Today was Sophia's last day of school.  They had a pizza party and splash day!  Lenore made Sophia a book with pictures from throughout the year.  Not gonna lie... momma teared up a little.  She looks like a baby when she first started.

Her room was on the second floor so we had to take the elevator up.  There were two different sets we could choose from and every day she would say, "I want this alligator mommy", while pointing to which one she wanted.  I wonder if she will still call it "alligator" next year.

When school started:
Weight:  31.6lbs
Height:  37.5 inches

End of Year:
Weight:  34.3lbs
Height:  40 inches

We Will Take It!

So, a storm is coming and I had NOT been to the grocery store since we had been out of town.  Seth had a late nap so I knew that we could make it out to dinner and he would not loose his mind.  You know... the fun stage of a toddlers life when you DO NOT ATTEMPT to go out to dinner.  Not only will your dinner be miserable but everyone else around you will be too.

So... we headed to Tupy's.   As we pull into the spot the rain started coming.  We ran in and got seated right away.  We ordered our food, and started eating and the entire dinner was very peaceful.  No fights, no gripping or complaining and are you ready for this???  Drum roll......................  Not ONCE did I have to utter the dreaded words I do every night at our dinner table "sit down".

This folks was one of the greatest dinners The Morton's have had in a while.  It is the little things, no gripping about what is served and staying seated.  Its the little things!

So, the whole point of this entry is this:  An elderly couple was sitting at the table next to us.  I am certain when they saw this family with FOUR children the wheels started turning in their heads and they were starting to eat faster to GET OUT OF THERE!

The gentleman walked up to us and said, "Can I tell you all something?  I just want to say that these children are so well behaved."  He also looked at each of them individually and said it because he wanted them to hear it.  Justin and I look at each other IN SHOCK and smile!  I hope that man knows just how much that one comment meant to not only Justin and I but the kiddos as well.  We talked to them after the kind man left and thanked them for being so well behaved and told them they deserve a treat!  Off to Sonic we went.

Some of you may say, yes they were good and quite because they had an electronic in their hands.  NOT THE MORTON'S!  We do not allow electronics at dinner, it is a family time event to talk about your day.  Now, do not get me wrong, I am not judging because your child might have an electronic because trust me... mine do SOMETIMES.  If we are with someone who does not have children then we might let them have it for a little while so we can enjoy the company of whom we are dining with.

Shout out to The Morton kiddos!  Mom and Dad are so proud!

The boys had their vocabulary parade at school today.  Luke was "money" and Jonah's word was "mass".  He had a mass of silly bandz.

Austin Trip

We headed down to Austin for the long weekend.  Sam and Amy have their house on the market so we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express 1/4 mile from their house.  We arrived to the hotel about 8:45 Thursday night and by 9:30 got a call from the front desk with a noise complaint from the room below us.  SERIOUSLY?  Give us a break... we just got there and I am trying to unpack for SIX people folks.  IT IS 9:30!!!  GIVE US A MINUTE.

So after we got the air mattress blown up and everyone settled for bed Seth started to LOOSE HIS MIND!  I was actually kind of happy about it.  I could not wait for THAT complaint :)  I would have loved to have given those people a piece of my mind then!  :)

Poor Hulk, he likes to be put in bed in his room and be done.  He was not sure what to do about everyone being in the same room ready for bed.  He finally got relaxed and passed out.

Friday we did a whole lot of NOTHING but sit in the room and watch the rain.  It was pouring.  I looked out the window and we had parked downhill and the water was up to my wheel.  Justin went out to move it to higher ground.  No one slept great because the room was so humid.  Yes, we know it was raining and we ARE in TX but the AC is supposed to wick moisture out of the air.  We called down to the front desk to ask them about it and the guy says to me, "ummmm, are you from TX ma am"?  He followed that with, "I am not trying to be rude, just making sure".  We laughed and then he sent someone up to check on it.  They told us if it did not get better we could move.

Well, it did NOT get better and we did not move.  I could not imagine loading everything back up and moving it.  We were only there at night.

Saturday Justin and Sam went to play golf and Amy and I took the kids shopping.  WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF???  After that we went to the club to meet the guys for dinner.

Please tell me you did NOT think we would get through a trip without me getting sick did you?  Saturday night at 11:00 I thought I could possibly be dying... or at least wanted to.  I got the cold sweats and was cramping like a mother...  I was nauseous and hit the toilet every 20 minutes until 5:00 am.  ONE OF THE LONGEST NIGHTS EVER!

Sunday Justin and Sam went to golf another round and Amy and I took the kids to her friends house and left them there with two babysitters.  Sophia did not want to stay and I figured I did not want the sitters to have to hear her scream the entire time so I took her with Amy and I to shop some more.

We went and picked them up after a couple of hours and they were swimming, Seth had just woken up and was crying and eating with his diaper on backwards... SMH.  How is this even possible?  You took the diaper off, did you not remember the way it was on?  The only thing I can imagine is him laying face down and them trying to put on the diaper.  My child's first experience with a babysitter other than his grandparents or Aunt/uncle and that is what happens...  poor Hulk.

Monday we headed home and made great timing.  3.5 hours and only one stop.

Jonah Field Day

Jonah had field day today.  I think the humidity was at least 150%  My hair is a frizzy, curly mess to prove it!  Sophia cried when we left because she did not want to leave Jonah.

Luke Turns Eight!

Luke turned 8 today!  I cannot believe it.  I know, I know, I say it EVERY birthday but where has the time gone?  Luke is obsessed with Minecraft and stuffed things...  which is the one thing I cannot stand, anything stuffed.  What is the point?  They take up valuable space.  When I saw the stuffed creeper I just could not resist!  I just knew he would LOVE it.

He wanted a Spooner and that was about it.  He could not tell me what he wanted so that leads me to believe he "needs" nothing.  :)  He got a couple of pairs of shorts, a couple of shirts, a Boogie Board that you write on and some new PJ's.  That is another thing he loves... JAMMIES!

As soon as the kids got home from school we loaded the car and headed to Austin for the long weekend.  No school Friday OR Monday!  WOOOHOOOOOO

We will be celebrating his birthday this weekend, more to come...

Sophia started her second week of swim lessons this week.  She has done WONDERFUL!  NO CRYING.  Can I get a WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!

She still did not talk but today...... wait for it....... she smiled!  SHE SMILED PEOPLE, SHE SMILED!  It's the little things.

Luke's Field Day!

Luke had his field day today.  He is wearing his swimsuit because there were water activities.  I am so glad that he wanted me there!  Sophia had school today so I only had Seth.  I always wonder WHO designs the shirts for our school functions.  I do not feel this is a boyish shirt AT ALL!  Oh well... it was only $5.  :)

Flyers End Of Season Party

The Flyers end of season party was at Coach DJ and Coach Courtney's community pool.  The weather held out for us although it was very windy.  Coach DJ and Coach Courtney are AWESOME coaches.  They are so great and patient with the boys and give them positive feedback.  Even if we are loosing they are telling them what a great job they have done.  They are so patient with Luke too.  Luke has really improved each season.  He started off running up and down the court never touching the ball... this season he has touched the ball a couple of times.  The second to last game he assisted in a shot!  The last game he grabbed that ball and DRIBBLED DOWN THE ENTIRE COURT!!!  YEA LUKE.  It was like it was in slow motion, almost like he could not believe he had the ball.  SO PROUD OF LUKE!

Luke started PreK with Asher and Bishop and it has been so fun to watch them grow up.

Luke On Stage

Luke and Mrs.  Kerley got called up on stage for the Magic Show at Good Morning Allen.  He does not look very happy but he could NOT stop talking about it when he got home!  Mrs.  Kerley wanted me to ignore the way she was dressed because it was tourist day at school.

Ben's Sleepover

Ben came for a sleepover.  Sophia and Ben started off on the air mattress but after 45 minutes of getting up we separated them.  They both fell right to sleep after that.  They played Legos and Skylanders.  Ben was so excited when Uncle Justin brought home Canes for lunch.

Mothers Day

Of course all the kids decide to wake up early this Mothers Day.  Two fights even broke out before 8:07 am.  The day was starting off great!  It even got better when I told the kiddos I wanted a picture with them.  The complaints started and the sad faces came out.  I told them they all better fake it because it's MY DAY and I said so!  :)

Justin got up bright and early to head to my dealers and pick up my fix for the day.  Thank you STARBUCKS!

The boys came in to give me my card and gift.  I must say Justin was pretty crafty on this one.  I even asked if he had been on Pinterest!  LOL

You have to read the card to get the cards...  Of course he is the King and the numbered cards are the kids ages :)

We headed over to mom and dads for lunch and the boys were dying to swim.  The water was really cold and it was only 75 degrees outside.  They put their legs in and kept asking if they could swim.  So, since it was Mothers Day... I may or may not have given them a little push on the back.  They were SO excited :)

Sophia of course wanted in too.  This momma was NOT getting in.  We went to get Sophia's suit on and of course she did not want any of the ones that were there.  She put one on and said she was "too fluffy".  Lawdy Mercy help me now.  She put her clothes back on and just stuck her legs in and got soaked.

We headed home and the kids were all bathed and in bed by 8:00.  Justin and I crawled in bed and watched some TV until about 10:45.  At 11:07 Jonah came down telling me he was hot and then ran to the bathroom.  Here is where Mothers Day gets fun... he started barfing and it did so until after 3:00am. He barfed 8 times and it was coming out both ends.  I honestly did not know how anything was left in him.

It is true... A mommy NEVER gets a day off!  I am just glad I can stay home with him today.  Now, be a good boy and stay away from mommy and everyone else and keep those germs to yourself!  :)

Jonah left me this note

Lighting is horrible and this is the best we got!
