Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night with your heart racing and laying in a pool of sweat? This is all happening to me... AGAIN! No, it is not me having a nightmare while sleeping, it is happening while Sophia is in the pool learning to swim.
Rewind 4 or so years ago... Jonah and Luke were in swimming lessons with the same teacher Sophia is learning from now. Luke screamed BLOODY MURDER THE ENTIRE TIME OF THE LESSON! What happens when the child is screaming? Mom has to sit in the garage and sweat her tail off! Anyway, the fifth day Luke finally just got in the pool without a scream and was smiling and loving it!
I DID NOT HAVE TO SIT IN THE GARAGE AND SWEAT TO DEATH!!! YEA LUKE
Back to the story...
Sophia was SO excited for swim lessons, when I put her suit on she told me to go and get her tail. I asked her why and she said she was going to be a mermaid.
Sophia is talking the ENTIRE way to Mrs Sally's house and is SO excited. We get out of the car and walk up to the garage ready to go in and Sophia stops DEAD IN HER TRACKS and freezes. Folks... she literally is paralyzed in fear.
I had to pick her up and the tears started pouring out. My sweet little girl was terrified. The tears and screaming did NOT stop the entire time in the pool. Poor little Megan her swim buddy was now deaf along with Mrs Sally. She would do everything the teacher told her to do after telling her "no" a few times but then gave in.
Yes, again I find myself in "THE GARAGE OF DEATH" For some reason the garage is down a quarter of the way. So not only did I walk into the garage door once but TWICE. I now have a pounding headache from leaving a chunk of my forehead on the garage door and Sophia crying.
As I sit in the garage all I can hear is sweet little Megan's mom saying, "good job Megan, way to go Megan, your doing awesome Megan" all while snapping pictures with her magnum camera! I wanted to run and do a cannon ball just to splash her I was so upset that I could not even be in the backyard watching Sophia and cheering her on.
Day Two:
Today was better, only cried a little and momma did NOT HAVE TO GO IN THE GARAGE OF DEATH AND I DID NOT HIT MY HEAD ON THE GARAGE DOOR" WOOHOOOOOOO
Day Three:
I think this was worse than day one. Although Mrs. Sally did not make me go in the garage she cried and kept telling her "no" and that she was not going to do it. Sophia kept saying she did not want her eyes wet.
Day Four:
As we are walking up to the "garage of death" today Sophia said to me, "mommy, I'm going to start crying". Poor sister, the fear sets in once again and she is paralyzed. I carry her in and sit down and wait for the two other girls to finish up. As soon as they step out of the pool the tears start flowing. Sophia is telling me to not go in the garage. I told her that I did not want to go in the garage so she better stop crying! :) She did everything she was told to do but still cried the entire time.
