The Texas Dream Cruise show was this afternoon from noon to 5:00. Yes, you read that correctly... TX, JUNE and NOON, oh and it was going to be 100 degrees! WHAT was I thinking? I thought it would be fun to head out and let the kids see all the different cars that would be out there but boy was I wrong! From the time I asked the boys to get dressed and brush their teeth and hair the moans and groans started. "Why do we have to get dressed? Where are we going? Why do we have to go? What are we going to do? I'm bored... yep, THIS is why Mother Morton DOES NOT LIKE GOING ANYWHERE. It is a beating to try and get the kids OUT of the house.
Justin (Minter) was going to have his 56 Ford, 1940 Ford Deluxe and their 1939 Ford Woody out there so we met up with them at II Brothers for lunch before we headed out in the heat. The service was horrible and we were there over an hour before we got our food, then only half of it came out and some of it was wrong. We could not even get our water refilled!
Lunch was over so we loaded on the sunscreen and started walking to see the cars. Oh, I see, you think the gripping stopped when we got in the truck to leave. YEA RIGHT!
"It's hot, my legs hurt, when are we going home, WHY are we here, I'm thirsty, this is boring there is nothing to do..........." As you can see folks Jonah and Luke feel that they cannot function without electronics or AC. They complain how bored they are at home and there is NOTHING to do so when we do actually do something they only complain. Mother Morton cannot win.
We listened to them complain for a while longer and then rewarded them with a Slurpee. Great parenting but it was _______ HOT!
So great to see Justin, Tara, the kids and Amos and Amy!
