Jonah's 10th Birthday Party

After getting the sports schedule we could finally plan Jonah's party.  Saturdays and Sunday are pretty much shot with sports.  We decided to do it on a Friday at 4:00 so everyone could still have their Friday night.  We had a great turn out.  There were only two I did not hear from.

Yesterday at 3:08 and 3:09 I missed two phone calls from the same CA number.  About 15 minutes later a voicemail pops up.  I listen and it is a young boy and I thought I could understand him but had Jonah listen to make sure I heard right.  "Hi Jonah, this is Evan Churchman, can I come to your party?".  I asked Jonah who Evan was and he said it was his friend from school in his class.   I told him that we did not send him an invitation and Jonah said,"oh yea, I invited him".   I told him that he needed to call him and tell him he could come.

Five minutes later he was here, I introduced myself to his mom and she said, "I am sorry, I just found out about the party today and do not have a gift.  I will bring one when we come pick Evan up".   I laughed to myself thinking... yea, we did not send an invite... I have never heard Jonah talk about Evan.  LOL

The Game Truck got here at 3:30 to set up for the 4:00 party.  The neighborhood kids started coming shortly after and could not wait to get in the truck.  We told them they had to wait until 4:00 because they were setting it up.  It was killing them.

Finally, game time!  As I walked in the trailer the boys all had a glazed look on their face, I believe they had found their happy place.  I went back in to get the nachos and hot dogs ready, went back out and I see Landon riding his scooter back and forth.  The Game Truck guy said that he had been doing laps around the truck.  I went up to him and asked if he wanted to go in and he said, "but I wasn't invited".  I told him that I was inviting him now and he could go in if he wanted.  He smiled and walked in.

About 10 minutes later I went out to check on the boys and the trailer was so flippin' hot!  I asked the guy if we could open the door.  He said that the generator did something and popped the back air conditioning unit.  We finally opened the back and front door of the trailer and got some air flowing.  Even the kids came in for a drink and said it was too hot.

At 5:30 it was time for the truck to leave and we were going to serve dinner.  We decided to serve the food outside since there was shade and a cool breeze.  We went through 28 hot dogs, and an entire huge can of fake nacho cheese from Costco.  It looked D I S G U S T I N G.. but must admit... I had a couple of chips and it was pretty good :()

After dinner the boys ran in the house and then out back to play with Nerf Guns.  They were all running around shooting each other and playing basketball.  The parents started coming to pick the kids up and so Jonah passed out his XBox cookies that Ashley made and his gumball tubes that I made, thanks to Pinterest and Miesha!

After everyone left Jonah opened his gifts and he made out great!  He got a Nerf Gun, two footballs and a ton of gift cards.  Thanks Tara for helping with the food!  Oh yea, side note... Sophia started crying when Uncle Jason got here and would NOT come downstairs and cried the entire two hours, she wanted me to come to her room.  After two times of going up there I just let her cry.   Get OVER it Sophia!  Uncle Jason is NOT going to get you.
