Ron and Nina's 50th wedding anniversary was coming up and all they wanted was to have all their kids together... in one place! It is hard to get us all in one place since Sam and Amy are in Austin, Ronnie and Theresa are in Houston and the rest here in the Dallas area. We booked The Great Moose Lodge in Burnet, TX. The house slept 26 people so that was perfect for the 23 Mortons and two dogs!
I had all the bags packed and took them out on the driveway so I could load them in the car. When I came back out with the final load Seth had the biggest smile on his face and could hardly wait to tell me that he loaded the car when in fact he loaded everything on the gypsy rack! He was so proud and I hated to burst his bubble by telling him we needed all that stuff "in" the car because the cooler, target and bows were going on the rack in the back!
We could not pull the kids early from school because Jonah had a test the last half of the day. So, we got to experience middle school carpool for the first time... and last! We hit the road at 3:40 after we got out of the carpool line and headed south to sit in traffic with the rest of the DFW Friday 4:00 traffic.
We were using Google maps and they told us to not get on 35 but to go around and that saved us a good half hour, I am certain we passed about 2, 000 cars!

It was PITCH black when we finally got to Burnet and we could not see a thing on the old country roads. Needless to say, we missed our turn, then found it and then could not find the house. We FINALLY found it and everyone else was already there! It started raining that night and it rained ALL NIGHT LONG and all of Saturday morning.

Lets just say, these siblings were feeling fine!
Sam may or may not have introduced himself to Theresa... his sister in law!
