Spring Break Day 3

This morning Carlie, Mom and Dad were taking lessons so Dominic was staying with Claire and Brook.  Claire broke her arm right jumping from a swing a few days before we were skiing.  Justin and I took the kids and Noah up for the day.  Poor Sophia's anxiety was through the roof and she worked herself up thinking that she was not going to know how to ski.  I told her that she would remember when she popped her skis on and that it was like riding a bike.  She took it literally and proceeded to yell at me that it was NOTHING like riding a bike!

We got our lift tickets, mom, dad and Carlie to their lesson so we popped our skis on and as soon as Sophia popped hers on she took off and could not stop smiling... until we got to the first chair lift.

It was pretty brutal!  We were downhill and the line was LONG!  Seth was in tears half the time in
line because his foot hurt.  Noah kept falling and then would slide between peoples legs.  We did see Birdman from last year but we could not get his attention.

We finally make it to the top of the lift and off they went!  I did put the fear of Aunt Al in Noah telling him that if he took off without us that he would have to sit out with his daddy.

I was so proud of him for staying with us and not doing french fry the entire way down.

I did have a temporary panic attack because we lost Luke!  We were up top and Jonah and Luke took off and found some trails in the trees.  Jonah ended up meeting up with us half way down,  he said Luke was right behind him but he did fall and lost a ski.  We waited and waited, Jonah took his skis off and walked up the mountain a ways looking for him.  Could not find him.  Of course he did NOT have his phone on him.  I had no idea if he knew what peak we were on if he got to the bottom or if he remembered my phone number.  I was a  hot mess!

I sent Nic a text to keep an eye down at the bottom for him.  We all make it to the bottom and no Luke.  Panic is setting in and I start walking over to Nic and THERE HE IS!  He is walking up the mountain!  I grab him and hug him and ask where he went!  He took off his skis and went and put them in the truck.

Mom and dad were not getting the turning down so decided to stop... their instructor was horrible.  Carlie went up the lift and skid down.  We headed back to the house for dinner, mom and dad turned their skis in and got Seth some bigger boots.

As usual my children were THRILLED to take a picture.  Poor Seth vomited 20 minutes after this picture was taken.  He did it twice and then went to bed and was ready to ski in the morning.
