First Day F2F School

Today the kids got to go to school F2F.  I think they are actually a little excited because they get to actually see people and feel somewhat normal again.  Although things are totally different at least they get to go to school.  I hate that they have to wear a mask all day and cannot sit with friends at lunch or play at recess.  We decided to not ride the bus because we did not want them to have to wear a mask for any longer than needed.  They said they had a pretty good day, was not terrible just hate the mask and the 6ft apart rule.

The day started a little rough for Justin.  At 2:00 this morning he woke up to go to the bathroom, he NEVER wakes up in the night.  He left the bathroom and headed to the kitchen.  He was gone for a few minutes and when he got back to the bedroom I asked if he was OK.  The way he was walking and shuffling his feet told me something was wrong.   He said that he felt like someone was stabbing him while grabbing his lower back right side.  I told him to get dressed and we were heading to the hospital.

I woke Jonah up to tell him that I was taking Justin to the hospital and that I would be back.  He popped up and said, "so am I taking Luke to school"?  Did not bother asking if dad was ok.  LOL, always a step ahead like his momma.  We got to the ER at 2:30 and I felt HORRIBLE because he got out of the truck and walked himself in.  I headed home waiting for him to call me to come get him.  Damn COVID.

He was texting me telling me that they did not have a room for him and so they put him in triage.  Then they were taking him for a CT Scan.  He started getting nauseous and sweating.  Then at 4:00 he told me that they are giving him morphine and was going to try and close his eyes.  4:37 was the last time I saw the clock.  I put an alert on his text so I would be sure to hear it.  Apparently he text me at 4:54 and I did not hear or see it.  I must have fallen asleep because he called at 5:00 for me to head that way to come pick him up.  He had a 4mm kidney stone.

I went to pick him up and we got home at 5:45 just in time to get the littles up at 6:00 for their first day of F2F school.  It was a VERY long day.
