New Years Eve

New Years Eve was low key this year.  Justin and I were invited to Jeff and Shelly's but we postponed since we were exposed to COVID.  Sophia was going to go to the lake with Tinsley and I let Adrienne know and she was not comfortable so we did not do that either.  The Eden's were having kids over and since Sophia had been with the girls after we had been exposed they were all fine with Sophia coming to the party.  We tested them just in case and they were both negative.

Jonah and Luke did not do anything, Justin and I were exhausted so just stayed in.  Mom and Dad went out to dinner and send us this pic.  They are adorable!

The girls spent the night at The Edens but I got Seth at 11:30, I did not think I was going to make it.  Here is to 2022!

Aunt Jo

Although Christmas morning hit a little different this year what an AMAZING day it was!  Aunt Jo went to sleep Christmas Eve and woke up on her FAVORITE Day of the year in her eternal home in the arms of Jesus.  Today we gathered to celebrate her wonderful life.  So many amazing things to say about her!  Everyone deserves an Aunt Jo in their life.  Her service could not have been more perfect!  Susan and Judy got up and spoke and they did a great job.  Aunt Jo started writing her obituary and made notes on what she wanted.  Aunt Jo even said to put "Aunt Jo" and not her name... she never liked her name, Nettie.

After her service we went to Restland to lay her to rest and all her great, greats layed a rose on her casket.  She was so proud of all of us and never failed to tell us that!  She will be missed but never forgotten.  Leslie has offered to continue making the Christmas Stockings and we will all pitch in to help.

My favorite thing besides hanging out stockings every year was the first week of January and the Christmas Letter would come in the mail. Aunt Jo always hand wrote the letters and would include a personal note on them.  Until next time...

Christmas Day

Seth was the first one up this morning about 7:15.  He waited in his room and then at 8:00 we woke up everyone else.  The kids had a great Christmas.  Meemaw and Pops came over for breakfast, Sophia, Seth and I made the overnight french toast and ham and egg cups.  I sure wish I could have tasted it!  Going on month five with no smell or taste.  With all the chaos we did not take any pics with Meemaw and Pops and I only got one at mom and dads.

Jonah was excited to get a new phone (iPhone 13), a new radio for his truck which he went outside right away to install it all on his own!  He got some clothes too.

Luke got a new phone too and a wah pedal for his guitar.  He also got a Darth Vader head Lego set and an electric guitar and amp Lego set.

Sophia asked for clothes and more clothes.

Seth to a helmet for his motorcycle and a SIM card for his phone.  He was so excited to be able to text and call me now.

After breakfast we got word that Aunt Jo had passed early that morning.  Bitter sweet day... Christmas was her favorite holiday and she fought to hold on until Christmas!  We knew it would be soon that she would go home but never thought Christmas Day.  My favorite part of Christmas is when I hang our stockings that Aunt Jo made... now it will be even more special every year.  Mommie Jo made mine but Aunt Jo made Justin's and the kids.

We went to mom and dads this afternoon, we got to spend the day with Julie, Ranick and the kids too.

Christmas Eve

Went over to mom and dads for Christmas Eve and mom made pizza.  The kids were thrilled to put on their flannel pj's since it was EIGHTY degrees :)  Sophia thought she looked like a man so she opted for the black shirt like the big boys.

Papa sent me a text tonight at 11:15 asking if we had an parmesan cheese... he was making the meatballs and stores are closed.  Asked if he could come get it but I told him I would send Jonah.  Jonah left here at 11:20 and I figured he would be right back... an hour later he is still not home so I text mom and dad asking if he has left yet... no answer from either of them so I called and no answer.  I did not want to call Jonah if he was driving.  Finally at 1:20 he rolls in.  I ended up calling him and he told me he would head home soon.

It's a Christmas MIRICLE!!!  The shower door was installed this morning.  It has been since Nov. 14th.  I wonder who will be the first person to run into it getting in.

Jonah Accepted To Tech!

Could not be more proud of this kiddo!  He was accepted to Texas Tech.  We are not celebrating yet though... he is still waiting to hear from Arkansas.  So crazy because he got his acceptance on the 24th anniversary of the day Justin and I graduated from Tech.  Cannot wait to see where he will go and start this next chapter in his life.

POP

Sophia did not have her annual Christmas party this year.  We decided to take a group to POP at The Galleria.  The girls had fun taking pictures and then we went to eat lunch at Grande Lux and then did a little shopping.
