Move In Day For Jonah

We picked a 4:00 move in time slot so we could get up and drive to Lubbock that morning so we only needed a hotel for one night.  We were looking at a wet drive the entire way there.  We packed all his stuff in trash bags inside the crates.  We rolled in about 45 min. from our move in time and there was a break in the rain.  They told us to come back in 45 min.  We went and drove around the campus and then headed back to unload the trucks and as we were pulling in to the parking lot the sky opened up and started POURING.  The boys jumped out and started getting the crates out of the truck and Jonah ran in to get a cart.  We all got soaked and had a good laugh.  We could have waited it out but would have been waiting a while so went with it.

Walking in to the dorm was a time warp.  It was so familiar yet so different.  As we make our way up the elevator we get off and the memories come flooding back.  We were about to move Jonah in to the EXACT room Justin and Brian Caravella lived in, 1005 Weymouth.  The halls were a lot more narrow than we remembered.

We got everything unloaded and started to put everything in its place.  Jonah started putting his shelf up that he and Papa built and we got everything unpacked and he could not get us out of there fast enough.  Jackson had been there a couple of days already so he was there helping us move things in.  They could not wait to get to the gym.

We headed back down the car and it was still raining.  Justin ran to get the truck and we all piled in and were going to head to the hotel to rest and then meet Jonah and Jackson for dinner.  Justin gets on his phone to plug in the address for the hotel... only he cannot find the reservation ANYWHERE.  After about 30 min. of trying to locate it we decided to book another hotel.  This was going to be a little tricky since everyone is moving in.  We did end of finding a room that said it slept 5.  When we got in the room there were 2 double beds and that is it.  Not real sure how all 5 of us would sleep in two full size beds.  We called the front desk and they said that we could NOT have a roll away due to a fire hazard.  They then told us we were in the biggest room.  Not real sure how this sleeps five but there is nothing we can do at this point.

We went and met the boys for dinner and then said our goodbyes.  Surprisingly I was holding up.  As we get ready for bed Seth began to get upset which then made me upset.  We cried a little and then started trying to figure out HOW we were going to sleep.  Justin and Luke crawled in one bed and Seth, Sophia and I in the other.  We laid the short way and it was MISERABLE.  I did not sleep at all, got up multiple times and Seth and Sophia were restless too.

The morning could NOT come fast enough.  We got up and hit the road without Jonah.  A piece of mommas heart was left in Lubbock.  So proud of this kiddo and excited for is what to come.  Wreck 'em Jonah!
