Morton Madness

The kids wanted to use one of their old Valentine boxes from a previous year.  I was ok with that!  I even found some premade cards that were cute and they were already assembled and ready to go.  I got to the school and parked on the grassy area where we always park and since it had been raining for 4 weeks straight it was muddy.  I looked at the car next to me and thought there is NO way she is getting out.  I opened the door to see how wet it really was and Ranee had just pulled in next to me asking if I thought she was going to get stuck.  I told her to try and reverse... she did and her back tire was spinning.  I got out in my wedge tennis shoes and started pushing and all I could think was that I was going to be covered in mud for the party.  lol   I told her to let me see if I was going to be able to move, I was in Justin's truck and I reversed and mud started flying.  I decided since I was moving that I would find anoth...

Who knew this was really a thing?  Poor Seth started complaining of itching, it started at the ankle and then worked its way to the entire shin.  

Jenny and Kev got a new realtor to sell the house and they told them they needed to do a few things so I met Jenny at the house and we power washed the deck even though it was 41 degrees and 13 mph winds and overcast.  We also mulched the flower beds out front and Jenny mowed the back yard.  Of course on my way to meet her I was wondering if they had left a water hose at the house... of course there was not one there.  lol  We called Lauren and ran over there to borrow their hose.  We had a good laugh with that and also not being able to figure out how to get the power washer started.  ha!

Sophia was so excited when we finally planned a sleepover with Elyse!  She said that she NEVER gets to just have Elyse so we made it happen.  They made some brownies and a tent to hang out in.  

We have known that the boys upstairs shower had been leaking for a while.  We saw a spot on the ceiling and had the boys stop showering and then had someone come out and regrout the tile and caulk around the tub and floor.   This has not gotten any better, the spot got bigger so Justin decided to knock a hole in the ceiling to see if we could find out where it was coming from.  We had the boys shower and water started dripping, not from the pipe but under the 2x4 on the right side of the pic below.   We cannot figure out what is going on.  We had the boys start showering in there again and did for a week with no problems, 4 showers a day and then a week later Justin walked inside and water was pouring out when Jonah was showering.  We had him stop and now we cannot get the problem to recreate so we cannot call a plumber out until we do.  

Every month the teacher decides on a student in their classroom to get an award, this month was the Social Intelligence Award.  Mrs. Schaivo sent me an email to let me know that Sophia would be receiving this award and it was a surprise.  I of course would not miss it for the world.  I never go to GMA because the kids always ask me not to go.   I was not going to tell them that I was going but of course the reminder on my phone went off and Sophia was sitting right there and saw it.  She asked if I was going and then asked if Seth was getting an award.  I played dumb and said, "y'all get awards at GMA".  So, I dropped them off at school and stayed for GMA.  She said she still had NO clue she was getting it.   I have a video of Mrs. Schiavo announcing Sophia saying that she is a leader in their class, a role model to others and shows respect for others and their feelings.  As Sophia's name is called I pan over to video ...

The KANSAS CITY CHIEFS not only made it to the Super Bowl but they WON!!!  They had not been to the Super Bowl in 50 years.  We were excited to watch the Chiefs play, especially Mahomes!  Friday afternoon I was hit with a ton of bricks and was down for the count.  I did not get out of bed for 5 days.  I had fever, chills, headache and aches all over.  Scott and Haley hooked me up with an IV to try and hydrate me since I had not eaten in three days and not had much to drink.  I took a liter of fluids and still did not have to go to the bathroom... guess I was dehydrated.   I had to watch the game by myself in the bedroom.  Justin smoked a brisket and Scott, Haley and Kyle came over for brisket and then the guys stayed to watch the game.  We were in contact with the KC family through out the game.  It was a boring game for the first 3 quarters and then KC was ON FIRE!  KC folks were all decked out and ready to watch t...
