Sophia Claire Morton
February 26, 2010 7:30am we were on our way to Presby Plano Hospital to have sister... we still did not have a name :) I checked in at the hospital and got my awesome hospital gown on and in walks my prep nurse... Na! I could not believe it, of ALL the nurses she is the one that walks in to prep me for surgery. I have heard horrible things about her from Daphne and Julianne. She is not very helpful and really short with you. I about died, and of course as soon as she walked out of the room I had Justin text Julianne and Daph to see if that was her! Sure enough... it was!
I have to admit she was not all that bad, a little abrasive but not that bad. I think I was just ready to have this baby.
Surgery was scheduled for 9:30 that morning and they came in around 8:30 or so and said that there was an emergency and that I got bumped. No big deal, what is another little while. Well, about 9:25 they came in and said, OK, lets role. So, it was pretty much on time. The wheeled me off to the OR and had me walk in and hop on the table. Soon after I got my epidural and spinal block. It worked immediately and I was ready to go.
Justin came in and they started working on getting sister out. She was born at 9:49am weighing 8lbs 1.8oz. and 19.25 inches long. She had a head full of hair and it even had a little fohawk like me when I was born.
I went to recovery for a while and mom, dad, Nina, Ron, Carlie, Grannie and Charlotte were all there waiting to meet this no name little girl. We FINALLY decided on Sophia Claire Morton.
We had many more visitors but I guess I did not get pics of them all. Aunt Jo came to visit, Mark and Amy, Jenny, Kevin and Tyler.
The boys went to school that morning and Mimi and Meemaw went to pick them up and bring the to meet Sophia. They were SO excited and were kissing her on the forehead. They could not get enough of her.

Mimi sewing the nursery bedding for sister
Months ago my mom asked me what I was going to do for bedding for this little girl. I told her that I was planning on using the boys bedding and throwing a little pink in there. She about stroked out :) She could not believe it... As the time got closer we put the house on the market and bought a new one before we sold the old one. So here we are in the new house and paying two mortgages, two insurances and utilities! I am NOT going to spend money on bedding, poor little sister...
Mimi could not stand it, she asked if she could make some bedding, she went and got some fabric samples and Justin and I approved and she got to sewing. Here she is last weekend working away on it.
Sew Mimi sew.

6 days before sister gets here
Mark's 35 Surprise Party
Tonight we celebrated Mark's 35th birthday with a shrimp boil. It was supposed to be crawfish but you cannot find crawfish anywhere these days... not even restaurants. When Mark walked in we could not tell if he was surprised or not! He walked in wearing his undershirt holding his other one. He later told us that he saw my truck, Nic's car and mom and dads car. They decided to come in the neighborhood the back way and saw everyone who parked three or more houses away. The party was at Charlotte and Lynn's house (on Dye in Dallas), I put what house because they are always moving :) They lived on Pebble Creek in Garland for YEARS and since that move I believe they have moved 5 times in the past 7 or so years.
We had a great time seeing a lot of people we have not seen in a while.

Jonah's Bear Parade box
Jonah was sent home with the assignment to decorate a shoe box for the bear day parade. Of course I will have to miss the parade because it is the day sister is coming. At least Meemaw will be there :) Of course they say not to bring the box early to school but I needed to get it done just in case sister decides to come early. At least it is out of the way.
When I asked Jonah how he wanted to decorate it, without skipping a beat he said, "Star Wars". No surprise there, he LOVES Star Wars.

Jonah's first crush???
One of the treats in Jonah's valentines bag was a pencil. At some point he took the pencil and wrote on the kitchen table, with the erasure and wrote, "I love Paige". I asked him who Paige was and he said a girl in his class. I called him out on writing it and he said, "ahhhh NO, she likes me". I did not say anything else about it. So today I am going through Jonah's folder and I find this... I asked him about it and he said that she told him to write it! LOL I am SO not ready for this!
So last night when Justin got home Jonah told him that he did NOT write this... he did not know who did :)
Spring Soccer starts
It is that time of year again... soccer started this week. Our first game is on Sat. Feb. 20th, the week before sister is born. Jonah is playing with the Dragons again and has one new player on his team. Luke is playing with the Hurricanes again and also has a new player. They are both really excited.
When will this pose phase end?
