Afternoon with Papa

Papa surprised the boys by picking them up and taking them to shoot their bows. They also made a trip to the pet store and then off for some frozen yogurt. Thanks for a fun afternoon Papa!

Sophia's last day of SPP

Today was Sophia's last day of Preschool Pals. They had a McDonalds picnic which was moved inside due to the wind. After lunch they enjoyed an ice pop and a slide show of the kids throughout the year.

Sophia loved going to school to play with friends, Mrs. Jamie and Mrs. Tiffany. We cannot wait until she starts back in the fall.

Luke Turns Seven

Where has the time gone? I cannot believe Luke is SEVEN! He woke up to streamers and balloons hanging in his doorway. He came down stairs and said, "thanks mom" with a huge smile on his face. I took cupcakes up to school for a treat and he requested I bring more than the number of students in his class so he could pass them out to other teachers. He gave one to his kindergarten teacher and one to Jonah's teacher.

When the boys got off the bus Justin was waiting for them to go see The Avengers. They were so surprised! They got to have a slurpee, popcorn AND candy.

We got Luke some speakers for his iTouch so he can listen to his Sponge Bob and Crazy Frog music in his room behind closed doors. I am not sure who likes it better, mom and dad or Luke.

Happy Birthday Luke.

Man Cave: Stocked!

Justin went on a beer run to stock the media room fridge.  His words to me when he got home. "don't be alarmed at how much beer is on the island".  As I walked into the kitchen this is what I see!  It was enough to fill the fridge.

Nice one Noah

Noah is known for his ability to be happy ALL the time.  He hardly ever makes a peep and is always smiling... even when THIS happens!  The boy cannot go potty without having a blow out.  I mean literaly he CANNOT go with out blowing it out.  They were on their way home and heard Noah pass a little gas and Nic rushed to get him out of the seat and thought he made it... until he heard something splat!  He then had to take the carseat apart and clean it and then let it air dry before putting it back together.

WHY would I post this you ask?  Simple.  To be sure we have SOME dirt on the cutest little dude in town.  Keep blowin' it out little buddy, Aunt Ayea thinks its pretty funny :)

Toast... Jonah style

Jonah LOVES toast... only if it is burned!  He cannot make it without the smoke detector going off so he has learned to wave a towel over the toaster now.

Luke decided he wanted some toast,
only, he did not eat the THREE pieces
he made!  Thank goodness.  This is what
I saw when I opened it!

Playing With Charley

Tara's niece is in town sowe went over to let the girls play. We headed to Hooters for dinner... after all, it is a Minter/Morton tradition!

The Park

Sophia got to spend the day with Meemaw and Ben at Cottonwood park playing and feeding the ducks. After the park they had some Chick Fil A and headed back to Bens to play in the sandbox. Thanks Meemaw for a fun day!

Alarm Clock Hapiness

WHY WHY WHY did I just now think of this?  Every single morning at 6:30 I wake the boys up for school I get asked the SAME question over and over again.  "Why do you have to wake us up so early"?  I relay the same exact answer every single morning.  "You have to get ready for school".  DUH...

The bus comes at 7:05 and the boys BEG to ride it.  Somehow I am the one to take blame if THEY do not get up and moving and miss it.  I am all for them taking the bus so I do not have to wake Sophia and Seth up.

Last Wednesday I decided I was going to set an alarm clock in their room and see what happens.  I told them before I put them in bed that I did it and showed them what to do when the alarm goes off at 6:15.  It's not pretty folks, its the one that goes, "eeehhhhh eeeehhhhhh eeehhhhh eeeehhhhh" I just knew that would annoy them and get them up. HA

As I lay in bed the following morning I hear the boys get out of bed, I'm sorry, did I say "get"?  I meant JUMP like a heard of wild buffalo and start getting dressed.  They then came down stairs and started eating and finish getting ready.  It worked!  There was NO raising my voice, or Justin's voice and they left in time to catch the bus!  I was IN HEAVEN people... IN HEAVEN!  Here it is the last three weeks of school and I am just now thinking of this!

So the next couple of mornings go smoothly as well.  I am really starting to dig this alarm thing.

We are now to Saturday people... S A T  U R D A Y!!!  No school, no alarms and no sports to get up for.  5:50 am guess who is up and at 'em!  You guessed it, Jonah and Luke playing on the computer and ready to start the day.  I marched upstairs and told them to go back to bed and not get up until 7:00.  I also gave them the speech that they need to SLEEP IN on Saturday since they yell at me for waking them up on school days and they reply, "but its the weekend, we want to play".  WHAT???  We have ALL WEEKEND dudes, GO TO SLEEP.

So needless to say, we are happy with the alarm clock and I think it makes them feel a little "grown up"... but for the love... sleep in on the weekends boys!  Please.

Mothers Day Tea With Sophia

Sophia had her Mothers Day Tea at school today.  She acts so different at school it is crazy!  She is so quite and shy.  Let me tell you guys... she is NOT that way at home.  She is loud and never stops when she is home.

Voculary Parade

The boys had a vocubulary parade at school today.  They had a list of words they could choose from.  Luke did spider and Jonah did hexagon.  We had some extra scraps from the construction so Justin made a barbell for him to use as his hexagon.

5 Days Of Quite

So its been FIVE days since the construction has been complete.  We could not be happier with the way things turned out.  Surely with ALL the things that we had done to the house something had to have gone wrong through out the process.  Well, luckily not!

The most exciting thing would had to have been when the bad storms hit on April 3rd.  There were tornado's touching down all over the DFW area and I was here with Sophia and Seth and about 5 guys who could utter 5 words in English and I was a nervous wreck.  We had NO TV (it was disconnected since the wall with the cable hookup was knocked out and rebuilt and the TV that was hooked up was upstairs covered in plastic and furniture surrounding it) so I could only check the radar on my phone.  Did I mention we went 26 days with NO TV people???  I was missing all of my trash TV but that is a whole other story!

By this time the it was hailing, the tornado sirens were going off and my phone was not getting reception.  It would ring and go strait to voice mail and I could not call out or get texts.  I told the crew that we might have to take cover (they looked at me and smiled... that could mean one of two things!  They were excited to be stuck in a closet with a women and her two children under two or they had NO clue what I was saying)!  They continued to work through the storm and my phone finally let me answer a call from my dad saying he was on his way to help me with the kids seeing as how it was after 2:00 and the boys would be getting home soon.  Well, we were wrong, the school was on lock down and we had no idea when the kids would be released.  I was worried about the boys because all I could think of was has horrible it must be face down in the boys bathroom assuming the position for over an hour.

I'm just sayin', I know how disgusting my boys bathroom is, let alone the one at school where hundreds of boys who have NO control over their shooting abilities could be.

I got a text from Autumn telling me that she was in the school and was right next to Luke.  That somehow made me feel so much better knowing that Luke was OK.  Not so much for Autumn because that meant that she was having to assume the position on that nasty floor!  Thanks for taking one for the team girl.

So besides no TV for 26 days, the hail storm, Justin and Rob having to lift the HEAVY couch upstairs by themselves there was no other big problems.  So glad it is all over with.

STOP laughing guys!  You will drop it.
