Alarm Clock Hapiness

WHY WHY WHY did I just now think of this?  Every single morning at 6:30 I wake the boys up for school I get asked the SAME question over and over again.  "Why do you have to wake us up so early"?  I relay the same exact answer every single morning.  "You have to get ready for school".  DUH...

The bus comes at 7:05 and the boys BEG to ride it.  Somehow I am the one to take blame if THEY do not get up and moving and miss it.  I am all for them taking the bus so I do not have to wake Sophia and Seth up.

Last Wednesday I decided I was going to set an alarm clock in their room and see what happens.  I told them before I put them in bed that I did it and showed them what to do when the alarm goes off at 6:15.  It's not pretty folks, its the one that goes, "eeehhhhh eeeehhhhhh eeehhhhh eeeehhhhh" I just knew that would annoy them and get them up. HA

As I lay in bed the following morning I hear the boys get out of bed, I'm sorry, did I say "get"?  I meant JUMP like a heard of wild buffalo and start getting dressed.  They then came down stairs and started eating and finish getting ready.  It worked!  There was NO raising my voice, or Justin's voice and they left in time to catch the bus!  I was IN HEAVEN people... IN HEAVEN!  Here it is the last three weeks of school and I am just now thinking of this!

So the next couple of mornings go smoothly as well.  I am really starting to dig this alarm thing.

We are now to Saturday people... S A T  U R D A Y!!!  No school, no alarms and no sports to get up for.  5:50 am guess who is up and at 'em!  You guessed it, Jonah and Luke playing on the computer and ready to start the day.  I marched upstairs and told them to go back to bed and not get up until 7:00.  I also gave them the speech that they need to SLEEP IN on Saturday since they yell at me for waking them up on school days and they reply, "but its the weekend, we want to play".  WHAT???  We have ALL WEEKEND dudes, GO TO SLEEP.

So needless to say, we are happy with the alarm clock and I think it makes them feel a little "grown up"... but for the love... sleep in on the weekends boys!  Please.
