Easter

After church this morning we headed over to mom and dads for some lunch and an Easter Egg hunt.  It was next to impossible to get a picture of all the kids but we tried.  Poor Seth got a 15 minute nap on the way home from church and that was it.  He finally sacked out on daddy after the egg hunt at 5:30.   Yes, Sophia is in her Doc McStuffins PJ's, she decided to get comfy for the egg hunt!

The Hulks First Haircut

We headed over to Mimi's house to visit with Grannie. I decided it was time for Seth to get a haircut... along with having his first Sprite. Don't judge, it kept him occupied :).

When we got home daddy was on the inversion table and the boys were dying to give it a try.

The Hulks Eye

In 9.5 years and four kids The Mortons have never had a broken bone or needed stitches... until now!

I will set the scene:  Grannie had been in the hospital for a few days and went to mom and dads after she was released.  I went to pick her up to come hang out with us for the day.  I went to change Seth's diaper and when I got back to the living room she was under a blanket and asleep.  I grabbed Sophia and Seth and headed to my room so she could nap.  I was sitting on my floor leaning against my bed and Seth stood up next to me, turned to grab my knee and lost his footing.  He fell and hit his face right on the side rail of the bed!   He spun around and I grabbed him and when I turned him towards me all I could see was a stream of blood running down his face and it was all over his shirt.  I grabbed a wipe to see if I could get the bleeding to stop so I could see where the problem was.  Of course it was his eye.  After a few minutes it stopped bleeding and it just looked like it was not going to close.

What to do, what to do!  By this time, it is 2:30, the boys get out of school at 2:50, Grannie is asleep so I call Dr. Kaplan to see if I should bring him in or take him elsewhere.  He told me to bring him in to see if he could glue it shut, if not he would send us elsewhere to get it stitched.

The boys finally get home, I have to wake Grannie up and we all load up in the truck and take off.  Of course Justin was in Plano working of all days!  I call my dad to see when he will be getting home from work to see if he could meet me to get Grannie in case I had to take Seth to get stitches.  I did not need my 92 year old Grannie who was refusing to use her walker to fall and get hurt while dealing with all of this!  HA  The nurse was able to wash around his eye and  Dr. Kaplan was able to glue it shut... thank goodness.  By the time we were done, dad was in the waiting room with Grannie to take her home.

Of ALL the days for this to happen it had to be the day Grannie was here fighting me about everything.  God love her stubbornness!

As if this was not bad enough!  The next day I went to the garage to get something out of the truck, I walk back in the door and Seth had pushed the other door open and was sitting waiting for me RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DOOR so when I opened it... you guessed it!  I got him RIGHT on the other eye with the corner of the door.  Poor number four.

Nervous Wreck!

My drivers license expired this year so I of course had to go to the DPS to get a new one... no online renewal for this momma.  I was not looking forward to going.  I was on my way and metally preparing myself for the nastyness I was about to have to walk into... for hours I was sure.

The entire way there I had knots in my stomach and I felt like I could barf at any moment!  I was certain I was going to get arrested and taken to jail.  WHY you ask?  Long story short, I was prego with Jonah and I kept getting letters in the mail from attorneys saying there were warrants out for my arrest, 8 to be exact.  It was for writing bad checks.  What?  Who writes checks anymore?  Apparently ALISON MORTON with a BANK OF AMERICA account with MY DL #.  Odd, I do not bank with Bank Of America but it sure looked like my signature and it was certainly my DL #.  I can assure you that I was NOT shopping at Shepplers Boot City in Rowlett though!  Or spending $300-$500 at Albertsons and Walmart twice in one day.  I contacted that DA in Dallas, went down and talked to him and he was supossed to write me a letter and have it all cleared up... I still to this day am waiting for this letter folks!  I left message after message after message and never heard back from him.

I just knew I was going to get cuffed and escorted out, the cleanest and most likey the most honest one there :).  Justin would be on a conferance call and not click over and that woudl be my one phone call.  I would have to call my mom!  HA

I arrived right before 9:00 and there were only about 15 people in front of me.  Of course the two women working the line were getting frustrated at the poor souls who did not speak English well and rolling eyes and being very rude.  Its now my turn, I get my paperwork, number in line and scan the joint for a somewhat clean seat to sit in next to someone without greasy dirty hair and dirty clothes on.

Do not get me wrong... I LOVE to people watch.  This place is GREAT for that.  I only had to wait an hour so that was not bad and the second best part... wait for it!  I DID NOT GET CUFFED, thank goodness.

After I was home free we went to Hoots for a little lunch.  We always take a pic so we can send it to Brian and Daph and tell them we are thinking of them.  That was our hangout and all the kids LOVE Hoots.

Jonah's Shoes... again!

Jonah is growing so fast I can hardly keep up.  He found these shoes and HAD to have them.  Luke told him that McDonalds wanted their mustard and ketchup back!  Jonah did not think that was very funny but Justin and I had a good laugh.  I only post pics of his shoes so that in the years to come he will know that we were NOT making this stuff up.

Mommas Melted Heart

I tell Justin, Jonah, Luke, Sophia and Seth multiple times a day, everyday that I love them. I admit, I do sometimes repeat it to Jonah and Luke until I hear them tell me they love me too in their put out and annoyed voice :). I have to be sure they hear me.

So, I am posting this so I will NEVER forget the day it happened... Jonah was walking out the door yesterday to go play with a neighbor after school. He shut the door, opened it again and yelled, "love you mom". I think I may have even dropped a dish in the sink. Thank goodness I did not have a knife in my hand, I could have lost a finger! HA

I know he has said it before but it's always after I tell him. This time, he said it on his own. That turkey melted my heart!

I LOVE my Jonah Bear... Sorry goose, I know I'm not supposed to call you that!

Sophia 3 Year & Seth 1 Year Well Visit

I took Sophia and Seth in for their well visits today.  Of course Sophia clams up when anyone speaks to her and she cries and backs into me when Dr.  Kaplan or the nurse come near her.  Of course I am holding The Hulk and trying to not let me leap out of my arms and am having to hold her and push her forward so they can check her out.  I'm not going to lie... this momma WAS SWEATING!  Its always so darn hot in that office... anyway.

Sophia weighed in at 33lbs.  I had to MAKE her stand on the scale and stand against the wall to get measured.

Seth weighed in at 24lbs 20z.  He got three pokes this visit.  Poor baby also had a yeast infection.

Sophia can technically sit in a booster since she broke the 30lb limit but I do not think momma is ready for that!  She already takes her seat belt off in the other seat so I can only imagine what she would do when she is  "free" of that.  New rule for babies... they are supposed to face backwards until they are TWO!  WHAT WHAT?  I was really looking forward to turning him around.  All three others made it just fine when they turned at 1.

Nothin' But Net!

Last night Justin was working with the boys on their  layups.  They FINALLY GOT IT!!!  They were both on fire, they made 99% of their shots.  Seth even got in on the action.  Seth started crawling on his feet with his knees up.  I think he is getting ready to take off!

The Hulk takes a turn.

Fishing At The Pond

The kids have been wanting to go fishing so Justin loaded up the kids and headed to Academy.  He says he WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!  The kids and I headed to Walmart to get some worms even though I thought it would be more fun to dig for them but...

Justin got the rods ready and Seth loved eating the chalk!  I know what your thinking, SHE IS LETTING SETH EAT CHALK?  No, I was not "letting" him, he is just so fast!  ha

Justin loaded up the big kids and headed down to the pond.  Within 15 minutes Justin was back with Sophia because she wanted her momma!  I stayed home because Seth does NOT like to stay in the stroller these days and wants to crawl all over.  Can you imagine what he would have eaten at the pond if he is eating chalk at home!  Even though they did not catch any fish they had a great time.
