WHAT was I thinking?

A few weeks ago our new neighbors moved in and Nori and I really hit it off.  She had made a comment about how much weight she had gained since they had started packing and moving.  I told her that I had to do something and she asked if I ran.  Thank goodness I did not have a drink in my mouth or I may have sprayed her!  Obviously... we JUST met!  HA

So, by the end of the second conversation EVER with Nori we were now "running buddies", we were going to start Tuesday of Spring Break.  Yes, I told her I was NOT a runner or someone who even likes to sweat.  Oh, AND I was so non athletic it was really kind of sad.  

So, Tuesday came and off we went.  We started off walking and then ran a little, walked, ran and walked some more.  We went 2.5 miles.  I felt great!  Wednesday we did the same thing only we went 3 miles.   We were going in the evenings but then started meeting at 6:00 in the mornings.  We ran for nine days, I even went by myself twice when she could not go.  YEA ME!  Then on day 10 she sent a text and she could not go.  THANK GOD!!!  I could hardly walk.  My knees were killing me and going up and down stairs at home was about to put me over the edge.  I tried not to tear up every step I took.  

I iced them, kept them elevated, stayed off them as much as possible and took some joint pills too.  It was NOT helping.  I was in pain for two weeks.  Needless to say, I have not been since BUT I did go and get signed up for the gym at Lakes Tennis Academy.  We pay homeowners dues every year and I have yet to use it!  So, Nori and I will be going tomorrow for our first workout.  Fingers crossed people!
