WTF Who's Turning Forty? FAGAN

We had Scotts 40th birthday over at our house so that they could get a sitter and let the kids stay home.  We had a great turn out and at 3:30 I finally kicked the last ones out!

Brielle's Science Party

Sophia went to Brielle's Science Party and she had a blast creating things.  She was most excited about bringing slime home!  Seth joined in on the fun too since I was helping run some stations for Stacie.

Heading Home

We were planning on hitting the road by 8:00 but were all loaded and ready by 7:30 so we loaded up and headed out.  Seth and Sophia were not feeling well coming out of the mountains so we armed them with vomit bags and then stopped so they could get out and get some fresh air.

We stopped 4 or 5 times but had to because Justin had to fill up the trucks tiny gas tank.   We pulled in the driveway at 11:15pm and were exhausted!  15 hours on the road and glad to be home!  We stopped for dinner at 9:00 two hours away from home.  That was THE LONGEST TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE!  So glad to be home though.  Remington did awesome in the car.  He slept the entire way and would pop up when we would hit a small town.

We were worried he would not want to sleep in his kennel when we got home because he did not sleep in it while we were in CO.  For some reason he would just whine so we left him out.  He would come up to our room a couple of times during the night just to see if we were still there... when we got home he went straight in his kennel and did not make a peep.

The next morning I went out to finish cleaning out the truck and saw Justin's front driver tire like this!  So happy we did not have a blow out!  Needless to say Monday morning he got new tires!

This quote came up on Facebook after we had all had a discussion the night before about how high strung I am.  I have a schedule and stick to it.  It drives me nuts when things get off schedule and we laughed about it and I am JUST LIKE MY FATHER... which is not a bad thing.  We just like it done how we want it and YOU ARE WRONG.  LOL

Oh the joy of coming home from a ski trip!  NINE loads total for the trip.  That did include all  the pillow cases and blankets from the car ride and car seat covers too.

Ski Day 3 Final Day

We decided to not get up and rush this morning because no way the kids could last all day skiing.  I got up and made peanut butter and Jelly for everyone to take in the backpacks for lunch.  Justin and Nic left around 8:00 so they could get some adult skiing in and we would meet them up at the top of peak 8 with the kids so we could all ski.  We had planned to meet around noon so they could get a good morning in.  We decided to get there a little early and ride the mountain coaster.  It was so fun and we needed up getting Luke an all day pass because he was not going to ski because his feet hurt so bad.  I think his foot grew a half of shoe size while we were gone!  It was fun seeing Luke on the coaster while we were riding the lift up.

Justin and Nic came down and met us and off we went.  Claire stayed down with Carlie, mom, dad and Luke while we took the others up.

By this time the kids knew what to do and what to expect and were BEYOND excited.   We got up to the top and they took off and by the 3rd run or so took off and made it ALL THE WAY DOWN WITHOUT FALLING.  Seth kept telling me how awesome and fun it was and asked if we were going to go again.

It was the last lift up and Seth told me that he was sad because he wanted to keep going.  So glad to hear and see them having so much fun.  They even asked if we could go back next Spring Break!

Ski Day 2

We headed  back to the mountain this morning and had to figure out a way to get the little UP the mountain not on a chair lift.  Sophia and Seth said NO WAY they were getting on one of those things.  I do not know how they thought we were going to get up the mountain but...

We did some research and found that Peak 8 had a gondola up the mountain to the family friendly area.  We all loaded up and headed up the mountain.  This was OK because we did the gondola in Keystone when we went tubing.  We get to the top and now its time to tell them we are getting on the chair lift.  They said they were nervous but we got them on.

The tricky part was getting all four littles up when we only had 3 adults and it was a 2 seater.  I took Seth, Justin took Sophia, Nic took Claire and Jonah took Noah, Luke rode solo.

We got them UP THE LIFT and they said it was kind of FUN!  Now for the fun part... getting DOWN the mountain ON SKIIS!  We told Jonah and Luke they could take off and we would see them on the mountain, there were only three runs for the lift we were taking so we would see them.

Nic had Claire AND Noah to get down by himself, I had Seth and Justin had Sophia.  WHAT IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY WERE WE THINKING???

Needless to say there were plenty of tears and we stopped every 5 feet or so and had to pick them back up sometimes putting skiis back on. I think it took a solid hour to get down the first run that should have taken about 7.

We FINALLY made it down and the entire way down through the tears and screaming how stupid it was and how they were NEVER doing this again they both wanted to GO AGAIN!

This is Nic when we FINALLY made it down.  He needed a drink!  Noah refused to "pizza" down the mountain, he wanted to "french fry" STRAIGHT down the entire way to get there faster so he could go more times.  Only problem was that he kept falling because he would start going so fast he would just make himself fall, Dominic could not even keep up with him.

We closed the lifts down and Claire stayed back with Mimi and momma so Nic could just help Noah down.

On our way home we saw THREE moose 4 doors down from us eating from the trees and bushes.
