With the way the week started off I did not think I was going to be able to pull off packing. I was in bed Monday afternoon until Friday morning so sick. I could barely get out of the bed to shower. Friday came and I did not have a choice but to get out of bed because not only was it Seth's birthday we were leaving for CO the next morning and I had to get everyone packed. We were scheduled to be at Nic and Carlies at 6:00.
I somehow managed to pull it all together and we hit the road this morning at 5:45. Jonah and Luke road with Mimi and Papa because we had to take Justin's truck for the 4 wheel drive. We arrived to the house about 9:00 Sat. night. Thank goodness we had Justin's truck because the Suburban would not have made it up the mountain. We saw a sign that said, "chains required" ... that is when by entire body tensed up and I was a nervous wreck driving up the icy mountain road in the PITCH BLACK with not a single car in front of us! Seth woke up and was in tears the last 40 min. because he did not feel good. We finally made it to the house and I could breath again! I was a little worried.
Sunday we wanted to take it easy and let everyone get acclimated to the altitude. We took our time getting ready and got everything organized in the house while the kids went out back and played in the snow. We then headed to check the kids into ski school for Monday and then drove over to Keystone and went tubing and after that went to pick our skiis up. The kids had fun tubing and I even let them talk me into letting them spin us... me, the bigs and Justin. I am pretty sure I wanted to vomit but the kids had fun. Seth went down 3 times and was done, Sophia went down a couple and was over it.
Before we headed out we wanted to get our kiddo picture out of the way so we would not forget to do it. Winston and Remington did a good job sitting there and we got a good pic. Carlie is wearing the "8" for that sweet baby girl they are expecting in September!
