So excited we got to make it up to Kansas City for Thanksgiving. We started thinking and it was 2019 last time we went for Thanksgiving. Justin left Monday to go for one last hunt in Kansas and then met us in Kansas City on Wednesday night. It was so great seeing everyone. We missed seeing all the Sherpy's. We all stayed with Mike and Lanita this trip since Uncle Ralph was not feeling well. We did not know if we could all fit but we made it happen! Sophia, Claire and Brooke were all in Alaina's room, mom and dad in the other spare room and then the rest of us on blow ups! Jonah was smart and took his up to the porch. The only downside was being stuck in the room with all the ones who snore.
The last night Nic was snoring so loud that even Luke heard it through his noise canceling headphones. I went upstairs to the couch but could still hear him.
We spent Thanksgiving Day at Lisa and Joe's. Had a ton of food and all played Bingo. Before we headed to Lisa's we stopped in to see Danita and Steve and then stopped at the entrance of their neighborhood for pics of the girls and the NFL Thursday night news crew was packing up their camera and then one of the guys asked me if he could film the boys throwing the football and the rest of us standing there. We thought we might be on before the Chiefs game but we never saw it.
Friday I got to run in for about 3-4 min. to say hello to Ralph to drop some food off and then we took the girls to a few places to take pictures, one was Union Station. Lanita took us around the old neighborhood and I saw Uncle Dave and Uncle Ralphs old house. We made it home just in time for the kick off to see the Chiefs barely WIN yet again.
We knew weather was rolling in so hit the road at 7:50 am Saturday morning. We should have left earlier because the roads were like an ice rink. There were accidents everywhere. I had Seth with me in the Jeep and my back end came out from under me and scared Seth to death, I got it under control and then kept feeling it slip. After an hour we were in sunshine and heavy winds. I had a death grip on the wheel then entire drive home. Nic was all over the road so had to go super slow and we finally caught back up to each other.
Jonah rode with Justin and Sophia and Luke were with Mimi and Papa.
We were so excited to be home and see Remington!
