Chris' Farm Party
Headed down to Winona, TX to Chris' farm. He was having his annual fall festival. We were being diverted off the I20 because it looked like an accident, the map was red for miles and miles. We saw a helicopter and knew it had to be bad. As the map took us off the highway we went down a dirt road along with many other cars and trucks. As we come to a T in the road we are 5 or so cars back and there is a semi trying to make a left hand turn. Why he thought it would be a good idea to even exit on the dirt road is beyond me. Needless to say, he did NOT make the turn. His back end went in the ditch and we thought he was going to flip it over. He finally started to back it up to try and got right. At one point he was jackknifed. We were stuck for about an hour. The semi finally backed up to clear a path so some of us could get by. We finally got back on the interstate and the backup was going West as well. Now the East bound lanes were moving. It had to have been 5 miles of back up. Later we found out it was three Semi's in an accident. This will for sure be a memorable trip for sure.
The property looked absolutely beautiful. He had a bull to ride, petting zoo, bbq, guy playing guitar and it was so fun. The boys fished and had a blast. The girls just walked around and took pictures. We stayed later than planned but since we got there late we decided to stay longer. We headed home around 6:00 and stopped to eat dinner and got home around 8:00. Parker ended up spending the night so they could get up early and go fishing some more.
