Shout out to Julianne!

As I read friends blogs they always reassure me that it is NOT just me... ALL moms (parents) have their moments. So this blog is a shout out to Julianne! I just finished reading her last blog and thought that I should blog about our day on Sunday. It almost makes we want to vomit just having to replay it in my head but we have moved on so, here it goes.

Let me start off by saying that yesterday was a packed day. We had Luke's party at 10:00, Luke's game at 12:20, Jonah's game at 3:45 and a birthday party at 5:30 AND cousins in town. Today was going to be another packed day of celebrating Luke's birthday at mom and dads with Grannie, Aunt Stef, Julie and all of the cousins. We were going to swim, leave for a couple of hours for a birthday party then take the boys back to mom and dads for a sleepover with cousins.

6:30 am the boys wake up and come down and crawl in our bed like every morning (on the weekends) and IMMEDIATELY start fighting. COME ON BOYS! Its a little early for this isn't it? Had we only known that was just the tip of the iceberg. The boys continued to fight with each other every 20 minutes or so, they would yell at each other then the throwing of things started then they decided to start getting physical with one another. THAT IS NOT acceptable in The Morton house. You NEVER lay a hand on one another. Don't get me wrong, we do spank in this house although lately we have not really been spanking because it does NOT work and telling them to not hit followed with a spanking does not make much sense.

After Sophia woke up from her nap we headed over to mom and dads. The only reason we went was because we were celebrating Luke's birthday, we would have not gone due to the boys behavior otherwise. Keep in mind we have already told them that the are not going to swim even when the cousins get in. I know... mean momma!

We get to their house about 12:30 and they head right up stairs to play the Wii. Of course within minutes they are fighting (which they have not done in a long time when playing the Wii) but then remotes started flying. Fingernails drew blood and the "I hate you's" came out! Thank goodness for older cousins who can come tell us what really happened. Jonah has a bad habit of taking things from Luke's hands without asking. We have been working on this with him but it seems to NOT be sinking in that you do not just grab something from someone.

They are no longer allowed on the Wii for the rest of the day. So, if your keeping score, that is NO swimming, NO Wii, oh and NO soda at lunch. The only thing left to take away is the birthday party and the sleep over.

So now, all the cousins are getting their suits on and we have to remind the boys that they are not swimming. Jonah has a meltdown and runs to Mimi and Papas room to be alone and Luke is following him and now they are each on one side of the door slamming it back and forth and one of them is about to loose a few fingers. Papa goes in for a little talk and I am so over it at this point. It had NOT stopped since 6:30 that morning. Sophia is stuck to me like velcro... as usual and people do NOT GET THAT IT WEARS ME OUT! I NEVER get a break, well, when she takes her whoppin 45- an hour nap I get to sit and blog like I am now. Yea yea, I know it will pass but come on, she is 15 months old.

So, I tell Justin to pack it up and we are leaving. It was ONLY 3:30. The boys were so clueless they thought we were going to the birthday party :) Sorry little dudes, you lost that too. Thank goodness we had two cars over there so we could split the boys up.

We got home and they were so super sweet to one another I have NO idea what happened on the car ride home. I guess they realized that mom and dad are serious and took EVERYTHING away.

I was a little sad they could not stay with cousins and I had to bring them home but I could not break. Momma means business!

At least Monday morning they woke up and were AWESOME! There was not one fight and they played and played and played so well together. We even had to move room to room to get out of the cleaning ladies way.

Julianne, hang in there momma! you are not the only one. I will feel your pain here in the next couple of months. Justin is going to Fl. to go fishing and then Sweden for 10 days and Atlanta for work. I sure do not miss him traveling all the time. I do not know how you do it! Your a rock star!
