Spring Break: Day Five

Seth woke up this morning a new kid, he was ready to hit the slopes... or so we thought.  After our first run his hip was killing him and he was in tears.  He hurt his hip 2 weeks ago in soccer.  He was not able to play in his game so we took the week off to rest it.  Well, that did not do the trick.  We had to ski one more run to get down and where we needed to be.  Poor kid was so upset that he could not ski, he has been looking forward to this all year.

We had to take another lift up to get down to where we needed to be.  Sophia was riding with Justin so they got on the lift and we were a couple of chairs behind.  As we move up to wait for the chair Seth falls and the attendant tries to grab him and get him up before the chair comes... did not happen!  The attendant grabs the chair and it is swinging going crazy and hit Seth in the back of the head, he is apologizing, not sure why they did not stop the lift...  I look back and the chair is coming so I have two choices, I can either jump to get on or this thing is about to take me out, I jump.  I am not even sure how I got on the thing, I was half on, half off so I had to pull myself up before it started to drag me.  I then hear everyone yelling and cheering for me that I did it.  I look back and Seth is in tears and on the chair behind me.  All I hear is him crying and I am asking if he is OK.  He is scared to get off the lift with poles, this is his first time with poles.  I tried talking him through it and calming him down while he was on the chair behind me.

I kept telling him he was going to do fine.  I even told him at one point to throw the poles and he could get them after he got off the chair.  We finally make it to the top and he nailed it!  He got off the lift just like he normally does, no issues.  He was still scared to ski down with his hip so we took it slow.

We finally make it down to where our condo is and he is in pain.  No more skiing for him.
