Sophia had a rash on her torso when we had her 12 month check up a week ago. Dr. Kaplan said it looked fine and not to worry, so I did not. By Friday it had gotten worse and spread up her neck on her arms and a couple of spots on her face. I decided to take her in Friday morning to just be sure it there is nothing going on. Of course he said everything was fine.
So we get home and I continue packing for everyone and getting multiple bags ready, one for the night at the hotel, one for the night at The Caravellas and then the rest of the ski stuff all together.
That afternoon at 3:30 when Jonah gets off the bus he is limping telling me his toe hurts. We get home and he takes his shoe off and his big toe is red and swollen. Seriously? All I can think is trying to cram his foot into a ski boot and how bad its going to hurt. I call Dr. Kaplan to see if I can get him in and they close at 4:00, we jump in the car and run up so he can take a look at it. He said it looks like an ingrown toe nail and by this time you can see infection in there.
He sends us home to soak in Epsom Salt and to put some medicine on it. We soaked it I do not know how many times that afternoon. We did have to end up squeezing it to get some infection out. Jonah was brave but still cried a little.
I hope tomorrow goes a little smoother...
