Our party was cancelled due to the host having the flu so Justin and I headed out to dinner at Mignon and ran into The Minters. They told us to come with them to The Bowmans party. We did not want to crash a party but... we did! We left at 11:15 and crawled in bed at 11:50. Needed to get some sleep since the kids and I were going to load up and head to Houston in the morning.

Christmas Day!
The boys came down at 7:00 so we went to wake Sophia and Seth up. The boys asked for money for their iPad mini they are saving for so only had a couple of things under the tree. Jonah got a Lego set, Nerf Gun, Headphones, Pillow, Xbox controller, sweats and a "I like trains" sweatshirt. Luke got his lava lamp he asked for and a Lego set, Xbox controller, Xbox game Terreria, sweats, "I like cheese" sweatshirt and a Nerf gun.
Yes, there were ornaments on the tree for the first 3-4 minutes when the tree was put up. If The Hulk could reach it then it was taken off the tree. Momma gave up putting them back on! |
Seth opened the chocolate bar all on his own! |
My very own helmet! |
Sophia got a Doc McStuffins table and I am pretty sure the elves were NOT playing with a full deck when putting it together! Looks great from a far! Then you look closer and see the elf put the stickers on upside down, not just one, two, three, four, five or six but SEVEN! SEVEN folks. Justin MAYor may not have made a crude comment about the manufacturer, until I popped him on the leg and said, "that #@%$&* *&($^# was ME"! We are still not sure how the kids did not wake up, we were ROLLING... could not stop. Let me also add, it has been 36 hours since she got it and has not noticed YET! Fingers crossed! Although every time we get a glimpse of it we will crack a smile or giggle!
We headed over to mom and dads for lunch. Grannie had spent the night so she was there when we got there. We had a delicious lunch, beef tenderloin, carrots, tator casserole, green beans and brussel sprouts. I learned that not all carrots are orange! hmmmmm

Christmas Eve
This Christmas Eve was very low key. I was still exhausted from having Strep so we just cooked Steaks, smashed tators and some asparagus bundles for dinner. Ron and Nina got to come eat with us so that was fun! While we were cleaning up the kitchen Sophia started yelling that Seth was opening his present. I grabbed the camera and ran in there and he was so excited to see his Duck Dynasty Quad. Sophia got a princess sleeping bag, Hello Kitty outfit and a Doc McStuffins playhouse. The boys got a sweatshirt and some cash to put towards their iPad Mini they are saving for.
Meemaw made out with some cash from The Katy and Frisco Mortons to put towards a new phone |
Pops asked if I could print out a picture of he and Sophia from our Zoo trip. He also got some coffee for his Keurig |

MISSING: Alison Morton
Has anyone seen me? I am not sure what has been going on the last year or so but I am ALWAYS on the ball. I am so ahead of the game it is not even funny! I start Christmas shopping in July, I think of birthdays weeks in advance and get the gifts wrapped. Three times in the last few months we have walked out the door to head to a party and I have walked out the door without the gift... not only walked out, the darn thing is not even wrapped!
So, here it is less than a week from Christmas and guess who has not wrapped one thing, besides the gifts mailed to San Antonio, Ft. Collins, Houston and Florida. Oh that's right, I have only mailed the Ft. Collins package! In my defence, Houston and San Antonio folks we might see right after Christmas. Now, Christmas cards... Yep! Last Friday I took pics and put a card together. Just Wed. Justin and I got them addressed.
I was going to an ornament exchange party and totally forgot to buy an ornament! I skipped the party so I did not look like an idiot! (Sorry Julianne) :)
I am hoping this next year I will become my old self again!

Jonah And Luke's Christmas Party
The boys had their Christmas parties at school today. This year I started out in Jonah's class first. It was PJ day. They played a game where they had to put on gloves and slid in shoe boxes and grab a tootsie roll. The boys won! Then they had to blow a cotton ball from one end of the room to the next with a straw. Boys won again!
The class went in on an iPad Mini for Ms. Forbis. She was SO excited! Jonah did not go in on this... momma had done her shopping and was not about to go in on it :()

We missed Luke's games but he told me that they wrapped each other in toilet paper and he came in second place. When Luke saw Seth he jumped up and gave him a big ol hug. Of course Sophia wanted in on the action. When they started making donut snowmen Seth bulldozed his way in to get some donuts.

Yes... this was a mother at the party! |
As we were leaving the school Seth had a wonderful meltdown! Did NOT want to leave, I tried holding him, he arched his back, was sideways then upside down all while screaming his head off. I would put him down, he would sit and cry, I would pick him up again, he would again be upside down. Another mom said, "we have all been there", that's always fun to hear!
As we are walking to the car it had started to sprinkle. There was a Dodge 2500 spinning its back tires going no where. He was pretty much screwed... until me and my Suburban came to the rescue! He had put some plastic things under his tires and that did not work, I told him I would drive if he pushed... did not work. He then asked if I had ever pulled anyone out before... not with the Suburban but I would give it a shot. It worked!
Now folks... I would not normally stop and offer a strange man help but he was on school property, had been at the party and had a name badge on and people were coming in and out of the school. So I figured I was safe! I of course did not go straight home because he could have been a coo coo bird, psychopath who could have followed me home and killed me or buried me alive for all I care. So, I decided I had better head to my dealers house and get me a VENTI chai just in case!
