So, like I mentioned, Justin got the ski clothes out of the garage along with the sled. I went out to get something right after him, opened the garage then shut it. As I walked into the house I heard a loud crash. I knew it could not be good. I opened the door, look around and see this! Yep, broken spring. Oh well, the gate was under 4 inches of ice, the arm was frozen and the driveway is a sheet of ice.
Justin went to get in his truck and the doors were frozen shut. Saturday we finally got in the car and he started it to try and get some of the ice to melt. Finally started to melt and we could clear the hood and windshield.
Sunday we got out there and broke the ice from in front of the gate and got it open. Justin then drove up and down the driveway a few times breaking up the ice. It's still a death trap.
I had someone come out and replace the spring and the rollers so I can at least get out of the garage now.
So, lets talk about the food situation. Let's just say that I am kind of glad I did not hit the store. You would not believe how much we are finding to eat. It might not be a complete meal with fruit or veggies but the freezer and pantry are getting cleared out. The outside freezer only has waffles and the inside one has slim pickings.
Pray for sunshine and temps above freezing. Everything that is melting is refreezing at night. NOOOOOO
