We knew it was coming... they warned us and this momma was a little skeptical I must admit. Everyone was hitting the store and stocking up except Mother Morton here. Thursday afternoon about 1:30 the freezing rain started as I was on my way to pick Seth and Sophia up from school. The wind was blowing out of control and the rain kept coming. It did not stop... it only got worse and it sleeted ALL NIGHT LONG! How do I know you ask? It was P O U N D I N G on my bedroom window. I did not sleep a wink. I really hate being a light sleeper. By morning there was a good 3-4 inches of pure white I C E on the ground. With the temperatures bearly reaching freezing all week how was this stuff going to melt?
Like every good mother does, I put the boys to bed at the normal time and told them they had school Friday. I KNEW that was not going to happen... insert evil laugh here. So, the rule is, stay in your room until 7:00. They woke up and were SO excited when they looked out the window. In other news... mom was a zombie walking around with blood shot eyes and could not leave the house to get her STARBUCKS!!! eeeeeekkkkkkk
The kids were DYING to go outside. Justin went out to the garage and pulled down the ski stuff. Out they (we) went. I got to go out because Sophia wanted to go out SOOOOOOO bad. I could not resist, the sled was out so this momma was in! We just had to walk to the side of the house for all of this fun!
We spent a majority of the day outside. We would come in for food and to warm up a little then back out again. We did this again Saturday... and Sunday. Here we are Monday and school was cancelled AGAIN!
