My children were up at 7:30 and Luke was out on the zip line. They could not wait for the adults to get up and moving so they could ride the 4 wheelers again. Justin and Justin went out to help someone change a tire while we finished the yummy breakfast Tara made.
FINALLY! Four wheeler time. Jonah and Coleman went out in the pasture to ride the 4 wheelers. After a few minutes Jonah stops and Coleman keeps going. Coleman realizes Jonah is not behind him so he heads back. Jonah had run over barbed wire and it was stuck in the chain. They could not get it out so they had to wait for Justin and Justin to get back.
They got it out and were off riding again... until BAM! That is when this mommas heart skipped a beat and I have NEVER run so fast in my life. I do not even know how I was running, my body felt numb and I thought I was going to vomit. Jonah and Justin were heading out to ride in the pasture. Jonah was in front of Justin heading out the gate. A few feet in front of the gate there is a pile of rocks that make a little bump for them to go over. Jonah went over it and slammed right into the gate. Thank God he leaned to the right before he flew over the handle bars or he would/could have been seriously hurt.
I finally get over to him, Justin was right behind him and saw the whole thing, got off to help him and Jonah popped right up. He was a little shaken up and said that the handle bar got his stomach but he was OK. (insert BLOOD CURDLING SCREAM HERE) This would be from Sophia who had followed us out to Jonah. She had boots on and a grasshopper got in her boot and I thought she was going to have a heart attack! Tara ripped her boot off and Sophia was still loosing her mind. Momma needs a stiff drink about NOW!
So we are checking out the damage to the 4 wheeler and the entire frame is bent and NOT drivable. Justin and Justin thought they could fix it but... looks like the "hey, can y'all do dinner" turned into a hey, we will buy you a new 4 wheeler! (Mom and dad walking away with head and shoulders down here) BUT greatful that Jonah is alive and well!
So we loaded up the Polaris and two 4 wheelers and headed out to see the land. Seth was having a fit to drive the Polaris so Tara let him sit on her lap. He was having so much fun!
We then headed over to Daddy Dee's land up the road. We drove around the land and saw a couple of deer and went into the house they lived in. It was left just the way it was and all the furniture is still in it along with all the critters and who does what else! EEEKKKKK
We headed back to the house to get ready to get showered and head home but the kids were all begging to stay. Tara said that we could send the dads home and we could stay another night. They kids were SO excited. The Justin's showered and packed up then... that's when it happened! The septic tank clogged up. PACK UP KIDS we are going home!!! ha ha ha
Justin and Justin went out to check it out and sure enough... it was backed up. Justin Minter stuck something in there and it was not doing what he wanted and said, "screw it"! STUCK HIS ARM UP TO HIS ELBOW AND PULLED &*%$ OUT!!! Justin Morton said, "forget that! I would have called someone".
They got it unclogged so we could end up staying. They finally got cleaned up... again and hit the road about 5:30.
We let the boys shoot the BB Gun and then had dinner and played four square and watched some TV. Tonight everyone was taking a shower! There was NO CHOICE! The dirt was practically falling off as they walked! The kids went down about 9:30 and Tara and I stayed up talking.
We got up Monday morning and headed home around 11:30.
So glad we invited them to dinner and are fly by the seat of our pants kind of people! Thanks Minters for some great memories!
